Slow Yoga Vacation in Sitla with Mini Shastri at her beautiful Home कrishma and Aanchal’s gorgeous The Sky House with the most beautiful snow capped peak views of Nanda Devi.

The mountains are calling and I must go - I’ve always felt this and every time I feel mentally exhausted I reach out to find any way back to the mountains🗻

It’s tough writing this post because I’m so rejuvenated and off insta it’s hard to get back to the gram but this is a learning post.

Do you know why you love the mountains? The Japanese call it forest bathing (shinrinyoku) and it’s been prescribed by doctors in Japan since decades to raise immunity.

The science is that the forest trees (deodars which grow at these high altitudes) give out phytoncides - compounds to protect themselves - their own defense mechanism to fight stress, and these are extremely beneficial to raise immunity in humans, and reduce stress and anxiety levels. In short the best natural medicine you can give your family and kids.

Coupled with yoga, chanting, and just life conversations with the best Mini Shastri , this retreat was nothing short of magical. Thank you Mini, I’m so grateful to you ♥️

Find a mentor/teacher you can connect with , who truly cares about you and watch the magic unfold.

✍️

As I sit back to write this on the eve of Diwali 2025, this is probably the hardest writing I’ve done all year. So much to encapsulate over the year. But before it all, I want to give gratitude to all of YOU who’ve made our fifth Diwali at Sātmya not just memorable but also a total sellout 🌟

The one thing that has remained intact since we started Sātmya is the commitment towards making fresh, farm to table jars and products that are good for your mind, body and soul while attempting to follow a zero waste and sustainable economy 🍀 The promise of honesty and health in every jar - this aim has only become stronger for me personally, as I witness the spuriousness and fake nasties in the name of ingredients added to cut corners, that have only magnified this year across all spheres of food and consumer goods. It genuinely pains me that I have to think twice before letting my kids have mithai from well known brands during Diwali.

But this year as always, our promise and endeavour to make sure you’re getting only the best in a Sātmya jar which a 2 year to a 90 year old can eat holds stronger than ever and it extends to everything else we do - from our handmade wooden jars, pure soy wax candles, to our brassware which is 💯 brassware (and not iron and aluminium coated in brass to reduce costs as we’ve seen in the market) our farm made mukhwas and date bites, made with our home pounded spices and pure honest ingredients that my 2 year can pick from our kitchen anytime to eat.

Thank you to our vendors working tirelessly to give us the best and our tribe - you who’s always had our back 🤍

And as you step into the festive season I hope and wish that you take a moment to give gratitude to those less fortunate, who serve us or just may need a helping hand from you be it a little time spent with a lonely elderly; saying thanks to the delivery people working long hours in traffic or just the staff who leave their families behind to serve us ♥️

In the current world order, which I sometimes fail to understand, may we all practice compassion, kindness and gratitude 🙏

Happy Diwali to you and yours, stay safe, healthy and loved 💫

Warmly,
Rabiya
