ALSCAS Heroes đź’™ | Story 07
Continuing with another inspiring story from ALSCAS Heroes…
This is a story of purpose, resilience, and a life dedicated to uplifting others.
Anandam Kakumani grew up in a small village in Nellore and became its first graduate, a milestone that reflected his deep belief that education is empowering, enlightening, and liberating. He joyfully taught English, Mathematics, and Science to anyone eager to learn, sharing knowledge with generosity and purpose.
His life was defined by hard work and integrity. From serving in the Tahsildar’s office to contributing at ISRO’s Space Science Centre, and later spending many years at the fertilizer factory in Ramagundam, he was known for his honesty, dedication, and willingness to help others. Even at 65, he was energetic, selfless, and deeply committed to those around him.
In 2019, his family’s life changed with an ALS diagnosis. The years that followed brought immense challenges, including feeding tube support, ventilation, and eventually a home ICU. Yet through it all, he faced each day with quiet courage, faith, and hope.
On 21 June 2024, he passed away peacefully, leaving behind a powerful reminder that true courage is often found in patience, resilience, and love.
