Many people with liver problems wonder how much percent their liver is functioning. No test can determine the exact percentage of liver shrinkage. However, tests like Fibroscan, Endoscopy, MRI, CT scans, and some invasive procedures can provide an approximate assessment of the liver's condition. These tests can indicate whether the liver is in an advanced stage, if cirrhosis is present, and whether the cirrhosis is compensated or decompensated. While these methods assess aspects like liver hardness and fat content, they do not measure the precise percentage of liver reduction. There is no way to determine the exact percent of the functioning of the liver.
