The Ling 6 Sound Test is an important daily listening check for children with cochlear implants and hearing aids. It helps us ensure that the child can hear sounds across the entire speech spectrum.

🔹 Detects device functioning issues early 🔹 Monitors access to speech sounds 🔹 Supports better listening and spoken language development 🔹 Helps therapists and parents track auditory progress 🔹 Can be done quickly at home or during therapy sessions

The six sounds (/m/, /ah/, /oo/, /ee/, /sh/, /s/) represent different speech frequencies. When a child can detect and identify all six sounds, it indicates good access to speech for effective communication.

✨ Consistent daily checks lead to better listening, speech, and language outcomes.

Dear parents,

I know this journey isn’t easy. There are days filled with doubts, questions, and quiet worries about the future. But trust me, every small effort you put in today is building something beautiful for tomorrow.

With love, patience, and consistent hard work alongside your cochlear implant child, you are planting seeds of hope. And one day, just like flowers, they will bloom—confident, expressive, and full of life. 🌸

Sometimes, all it takes is a change in perspective. Hearing loss is not a limitation—it’s just a different path. It cannot stop your child from growing, learning, and achieving their dreams.

Believe in them. Believe in yourself.

Keep going, no matter how slow the progress feels.
Because one day, you’ll look back and realize—every step was worth it. 💛

In speech development, play is not ‘just play'.

Many parents think speech practice should look like:
👉 repeating flashcards
👉 forcing words
👉 table work
👉 constant correction

But for many children—especially toddlers and young kids—
speech develops BEST through meaningful interaction and play.

Because before children confidently talk…

they first need to:
• feel connected
• stay engaged
• enjoy interaction
• understand communication
• feel safe enough to try

And play naturally helps build all of those foundations. ✨

During play, children are more likely to:
👉 look at people
👉 listen longer
👉 imitate sounds/actions
👉 take turns
👉 respond naturally
👉 stay regulated and engaged

That’s why many speech-support approaches use:
🧸 toys
🎲 games
🚗 pretend play
🎵 songs
🫧 sensory activities
📚 interactive books

Because play reduces pressure.

And when pressure goes down,
communication usually increases. 🤍

For example:

❌ “Say the word first.”
can sometimes create stress or resistance.

But…

✅ playing with bubbles while modeling:
“pop!”
“more?”
“go!”
often creates more natural communication opportunities.

Children learn language better when words are connected to:
✨ movement
✨ emotion
✨ interaction
✨ fun
✨ real experiences

But almost all children learn better when interaction feels enjoyable instead of pressured.

That’s why we focus heavily on play-based interaction and everyday communication opportunities instead of making parents feel like they need to run formal therapy sessions at home.

Because small playful moments…
can build BIG communication skills over time. 🌈
