I failed. And here’s exactly why.

Started NMOD in Dec 2021 with a clear vision —

No steroids. Honest fitness.
People appreciated it.
But appreciation doesn’t pay rent.

Biggest mistake?
No PT model.
Good trainers didn’t join.
The ones who did… didn’t stay.

Then I made it worse—
Lost my niche.
Started chasing a “bigger gym.”
More space = more cost = more pressure.

No partner.
Had to work outside to survive.
And slowly…
service & experience started falling apart.

Wrong partnerships.
No long-term agreement.
Forced shifting.
Top floor without lift.
Everything added up.

Meanwhile—
Competition increased.
Customers didn’t.
And members?
They moved to better options.
And they should.

This wasn’t one mistake.
It was a series of decisions.
Financial loss hurt.
But losing clarity hurt more.

If you’re planning to open a gym, read this twice.

Lessons I learned the hard way:
✔ Trainers are your backbone
✔ PT is not optional
✔ Don’t chase “big”, build strong
✔ Accessibility > cheap rent
✔ Have a partner
✔ Lock long-term agreement
✔ Be present — this is not passive income
✔ Market reality > emotions

NMOD didn’t fail… it taught me.
And I’m coming back smarter.
