Site Stories from a new healthcare space in Zirakpur.

A hospital interior is more than finishes and furnishings. Long before the final layer goes in, the structure, services and spatial planning decide how smoothly patients move, how effectively teams work and how calm a space feels.

At Max Super Speciality Hospital, Zirakpur, that groundwork is now underway. Stay tuned as the construction progresses!

Healthcare interiors have to do two things at once: feel calming and meet the highest hygiene standards.

That balance lives in the surfaces that stay spotless with almost no upkeep, finishes that resist wear without looking clinical, textures soft enough to ease a nervous patient yet tough enough for round-the-clock use.

Here’s a glimpse of some used across our projects, swipe through.

Mental healthcare begins with understanding the person, not just the condition.

For healthcare spaces, this means designing around lived experiences, with environments that support dignity, choice, comfort and connection. From access and privacy to daylight, landscape and opportunities for interaction, patient-centric design can shape how care is experienced.

This World Mental Health Day, we reflect on the importance of listening to those with lived experience and letting their voices inform the spaces and systems built around them.

When we began designing the teaching block for the Mayo Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow, the brief was to extend an existing campus. We saw it as a chance to introduce a new architectural language while staying connected to the larger masterplan.

Large arched walkways structure movement through the building, while a linear jaali follows the flow of students along the facade. Circulation becomes part of the architecture itself, bringing a classical grandeur to the wider campus.

Every building carries an unspoken promise that whoever enters deserves to feel safe. That is the question World Architecture Day 2026 puts to us directly, whether housing is truly treated as a human right.

At CDA, we see that question in every space we design. A hospital corridor that eases anxiety and a home that offers shelter rely on the same principle, that good design should never depend on what a person can afford.

On this World Architecture Day, we join that call, building spaces that serve people first.

Hospitals work as complex systems, where every planning decision connects to how care is delivered. From circulation and adjacencies to flexibility and future expansion, the way a hospital is planned shapes how it performs over time.

In our latest newsletter, we look at Healthcare Planning as a System, through the decisions that help hospitals work better today and adapt to what comes next.

Hospitals rarely stay the same for long.

Growing populations, changing demands, new clinical models and rapidly evolving technologies are constantly reshaping how healthcare is delivered. The hospital designed today needs to be ready for what healthcare might look like tomorrow.

Here’s how we approach designing healthcare environments that can keep pace with what comes next.

From concept to concrete, Amar Hospital, Patiala is coming to life.

The structure stands tall, the facade is taking shape, and the design is steadily falling into place. What began as lines on paper is turning into a space built to heal and care for the city.
