From Clinical Observation & Clinical Skill Building to Clinical Confidence — Journey of a “Foreign Medical Graduate – Clinical Skill course” (FMG-CSC)student
As part of the Foreign Medical Graduate – Clinical Skills Course (FMG-CSC) at Max Institute of Medical Education, Max Healthcare, students from Mari State University gained structured clinical skill training and exposure across key specialties, including General Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, and Emergency Medicine
Through clinicals skill strengthening , departmental observerships and interactions within a real hospital environment, students had the opportunity to:
• Understand the practical approach to patient communication, history-taking, and clinical assessment
• Observe clinical procedures, patient management, ward rounds, and surgical practices
• Correlate theoretical medical knowledge with real clinical scenarios
• Strengthen their fundamental Clinical procedural skills like Nasogastric intubation, Urinary Catheterization , IV Sampling and Needle Decompression etc.
• Understand the functioning of the Indian healthcare delivery ecosystem
• Build greater confidence and readiness for clinical practice
The FMG-CSC is designed to bridge the gap between textbook learning and bedside medicine, giving future doctors meaningful exposure to the realities of patient care and helping them develop the skills, confidence, and clinical perspective required for their journey ahead.
