Ever felt a “pins and needles” sensation in your ring or pinky finger? 🧐 It might be more than just your hand “falling asleep.”
Today, let’s talk about Cubital Tunnel Syndrome! 🖐️
📍 What is the Cubital Tunnel?
Think of it as a narrow passageway or tunnel located on the inner side of your elbow. Running right through this tunnel is the Ulnar Nerve (often famously known as the ‘Funny Bone’ nerve).
⚠️ How does the syndrome happen?
When this tunnel becomes irritated or compressed due to prolonged pressure or repetitive elbow bending, it leads to Cubital Tunnel Syndrome.
Signs to watch out for:
Numbness or tingling in the small and ring fingers.
Weakness in your grip.
Pain on the inside of the elbow.

Most “elbow pain” isn’t just one thing. Where you feel the ache tells the story of what’s actually going on. 🩺
📍 Outer Elbow: Usually “Tennis Elbow” (Lateral Epicondylitis). It’s not just for athletes; if you’re gripping or typing all day, those extensor tendons are working overtime.
📍 Inner Elbow: Known as “Golfer’s Elbow” (Medial Epicondylitis). This hits the flexor tendons and is common with repetitive lifting or throwing motions.
📍 Back of the Elbow: Keep an eye out for “Olecranon Bursitis.” If you see a “student’s elbow” swell up like a small grape, that bursa sac is likely inflamed.
📍 Shooting Down the Arm: This could be Cubital Tunnel Syndrome (nerve compression). If you’re feeling “pins and needles,” it’s time to look closer.
Knowing the location is step one. Finding the root cause is step two.

Running—it’s all fun and games until your knee starts acting like it’s being poked by a hot needle. 🏃‍♂️🔥
I’ve officially joined the IT Band Syndrome club, and let’s just say the membership perks are pretty underwhelming (mostly just ice packs and foam rolling while making questionable facial expressions). It’s a classic case of “too much, too soon,” and my body finally swiped left on my training plan.
Taking a forced pit stop to focus on glute strength, mobility, and actually listening when my legs scream “please stop.” I’ll be back on the pavement soon, but for now, you can find me becoming best friends with my physical therapist.
