"Building Autism-Inclusive Communities, One RWA at a Time"

Today, Let's Help India, in partnership with "Gautam Buddha Nagar Police" and the "Sector 56 RWA", conducted an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) awareness session to help create a more informed, accepting, and inclusive community.

As part of "Operation Aparajey", an initiative launched under the leadership of "Commissioner of Police Smt. Laxmi Singh" and guided by "DCP Suniti", the session focused on breaking myths about autism, encouraging acceptance, and supporting families who often face isolation due to lack of awareness.

It was heartening to see the enthusiastic participation of residents and the unwavering support of the Sector 56 RWA leadership, who pledged to spread awareness across the community and continue this journey of inclusion.

Together, we can build neighbourhoods where every autistic child is understood, every family feels supported, and every person belongs.

Thank you to Gautam Buddh Nagar Police, Sector 56 RWA, and every resident who joined us in taking this important step toward an autism-inclusive India.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Shri Anoop Pradhan Valmiki, Member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment, for taking the time to meet with us and listen patiently to the concerns of parents and families of autistic individuals.

As part of our ongoing autism awareness and advocacy initiative, we had the opportunity to share the challenges faced by families and the urgent need for stronger support systems and meaningful policy interventions.

We sincerely thank Shri Anoop Pradhan Valmiki ji for his time, patience, and sensitivity in understanding our concerns. His assurance to help connect us with the concerned Parliamentary Committee will provide an important opportunity for parents’ voices and lived experiences to reach the appropriate forums.

We are collaborating with the Gautam Budh Nagar Police on *Operation Aparajeya* , under the guidance of *Ms. Laxmi Singh, Commissioner of Police*, and the supervision of *Ms. Suniti Singh, DCP Women Safety*.

As the first step, we plan to begin our sensitization and community outreach programme with the RWAs, therapy centres, schools, and hospitals in Sectors 55 and 56, in collaboration with *Ms. Aarjoo Raghuvanshi, Mr. Sudhir Kumar*, and their team. Ms. Aarjoo has been leading *Mission Shakti* outreach effectively in these sectors, and together we will work to strengthen community awareness and promote the safety, dignity, and inclusion of individuals with special needs.

Building on the learnings from this pilot, we aim to progressively expand the programme across *all 26 police station (Thana) jurisdictions in Gautam Budh Nagar*, working together to strengthen community awareness and promote the safety, dignity, inclusion, and well-being of individuals with special needs and their families.

We are requesting each of the 32 Members of the "Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment" to champion a "National Autism Program" for India.

To support this effort, we have sent our materials to every Member by Speed Post with a handwritten note.

The package includes our recommendations on the systemic challenges faced by autistic individuals and their families, the lived experiences of caregivers from our parent community, and the policy proposals we have developed so far for a National Autism Program.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment plays a vital role in shaping public policy. It examines key issues, welcomes inputs from citizens and stakeholders, and provides parliamentary oversight of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. We hope these recommendations will help place autism higher on the national policy agenda and accelerate meaningful reforms for millions of autistic individuals and their families across India.

We sincerely appreciate your leadership in advancing this important initiative to make persons with disabilities aware of the government benefits available to them while helping them feel safer, more supported, and more connected to public services.

We were particularly heartened by your personal outreach to families of children with special needs and your genuine commitment to listening, learning, and understanding their lived experiences with empathy and compassion.

We look forward to collaborating with you and the Gautam Budh Nagar Police on cross-departmental initiatives that strengthen awareness, improve access to support services, and empower autistic individuals and persons with special needs.
