A diagnosis is a starting point, not the whole story.

When I sit with a family navigating an Autism diagnosis, I’m not trying to replace the clinical picture — I’m adding to it. So instead of only asking “what are the symptoms,” I ask:

→ How does this child sleep?
→ How is digestion — is there constipation, food sensitivity, gut discomfort?
→ What sensory input soothes them, and what dysregulates them?
→ What’s their daily rhythm — and does it support or fight their nervous system?

Lets not see these kids as they are a issue needing to resolve but lets create an enviornment which sustains their neurodivergent nervous system@

These aren’t alternative diagnoses. They’re the layers Ayurveda has always paid attention to — Agni (digestion), Nidra (sleep), and Manas (mind) — because a child’s wellbeing lives in all of them, not just in a checklist.HolisticHealth WellnessJourney ParentingSupport

Still oder Sprudel? 💧🇩🇪

In Germany, it’s a simple choice.

But if you struggle with bloating, burping or feeling too full after meals, your choice of water might matter more than you think.

Sparkling water isn’t “bad” — but your gut may prefer something different.

Which one does your body choose: Still or Sprudel?

German bread is very different from Indian bread—with different grains, seeds and nuts, from Brötchen to the classic Brot. It’s an important part of German food culture. So, does Ayurveda mean giving it up? No.

Ayurvedic consultancy is not about making everyone eat Indian food. It’s about understanding what may be causing a disturbance and creating practical strategies that fit into your culture and lifestyle.

And Ayurveda is not just about food. It has its own approach to treatment, but it also teaches you to recognize the early signals of imbalance in your body and take action before they become bigger problems.

A small bread hack: lightly warm or toast your bread—it may make it easier to digest.

When I work with Ayurveda in Germany, I don’t want to tell people that they suddenly have to eat differently or give up the food they grew up with.

Take Abendbrot for example. Eating bread and cold food in the evening is simply part of German culture.

So for me the question is not: “Ayurveda says this is wrong, so how do we stop it?”

I’m much more interested in why we eat this way in the first place. And then: how does your body actually feel with it?

Maybe it works perfectly well for you. Maybe it doesn’t. And if it doesn’t, we can see what small things we can change or add without changing your whole lifestyle.

This is something I find really important when bringing Ayurveda into another culture. We have to understand the person, their everyday life and their culture first. Otherwise, how can we expect them to be consistent with it?

I talk a little more about this in the Reel.

What is going on with the weather in Europe lately?

First the heatwaves and fires, and now suddenly rain everywhere. One day it feels like peak summer, the next you’re reaching for a jacket.

And on the trains, I’m already hearing it… coughing, sneezing, sniffles all around.

Ayurveda actually has a name for this in-between time: Ritu Sandhi — the transition from one season to the next.

We’re slowly moving from summer towards autumn, and Ayurveda says this is exactly the time when we shouldn’t change our routines too suddenly. The body needs a little time to adjust too.

So I put together this carousel with a few simple things I personally pay attention to during this summer-to-autumn transition.

Swipe through — especially if this strange weather has been throwing you off too.

Panchakarma: Is It Right for You?

Panchakarma is gaining a lot of attention as an intensive Ayurvedic cleansing and therapeutic process.

But it also raises some important questions: Who is Panchakarma actually for? Can it help if you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, or burnout? And what if you’re already taking prescription medication?

Today at Shrivani Ayurveda, we’re speaking with our Panchakarma specialist, Dr. Mahesh Kumar, to get some answer

HOST:
Doctor, first of all, who can actually undergo Panchakarma? Is it suitable for everyone?

DR. MAHESH:

HOST:
A lot of people today are struggling with stress, anxiety, exhaustion, and burnout. Is Panchakarma something that may be considered for someone experiencing these issues?

DR. MAHESH:

HOST:
And this is an important one: What if someone is already taking prescription medication? Can they still undergo Panchakarma?

DR. MAHESH:
[Doctor answers]

So Panchakarma isn’t simply something you choose because it’s trending. It’s an individualized Ayurvedic therapy, and whether it’s appropriate for you should be assessed by a qualified practitioner—particularly if you have an existing health condition or take medication.

Have more questions about Panchakarma? Drop them in the comments, and we’ll ask Dr. Mahesh in our next Q&A.

🌿 How to Build Solid Endurance with Ayurveda

Endurance isn’t only about pushing yourself harder. It’s about building strength, resilience and energy from within.

In Ayurveda, sustainable endurance comes from supporting your body’s natural balance — through the right nutrition, daily routine, rest, movement and mindful practices. ✨

Instead of constantly running on empty, Ayurveda encourages you to create a foundation that helps your energy last.

🌱 Build your endurance. Nourish your body. Respect your natural rhythm.

Watch the reel to discover simple Ayurvedic principles that can help you build stronger, more sustainable energy — and remember, consistency is more powerful than intensity.

Your “healthy” diet might not always be the easiest for your digestion. 🌿

You can eat salads, smoothies, lentils, vegetables, whole grains and plenty of fibre — and still feel bloated, heavy or uncomfortable afterwards.

Why? Because healthy food and easily digestible food are not always the same thing.

In Ayurveda, we look beyond “Is this food healthy?” and also ask: Can MY body digest it well right now?

Your digestion can be influenced by how much raw food you eat, how quickly you increase fibre, how many ingredients you combine in one meal, and your individual digestive capacity — your Agni.

Sometimes, your body doesn’t need another “superfood.” It needs simplicity, warmth and meals that it can process comfortably. 🥣

Swipe through this carousel to discover 3 common mistakes that may be contributing to bloating — and how to start looking at food from an Ayurvedic perspective.

💾 Save this post for your next meal and share it with someone who is always asking, “Why am I bloated after eating healthy?”
