We are glad to share that a rare variant of a common benign uterine tumour, Uterine Angioleiomyoma, diagnosed in the Department of Pathology, PIMC, was one of the six cases selected for the Clinical Case Presentation Competition at Aaradhyam-2026, hosted by AIIMS Guwahati.

We congratulate Dr. Suman Saikia, Assistant Professor, Department of Orthopaedics, and his team Dr. Shrikanta, Dr. Bulen Phukan and Dr. Gayanynashree Khound of PA Sangma International Medical College & Hospital, Meghalaya, for successfully performing the first Hip Replacement Surgery on 22nd May 2026.

Today, an interactive session on “Minimal Invasion with Maximum Impact - Robotics & the Story of Modern Warfare Against Cancer” was conducted at PA Sangma International Medical College & Hospital for the MBBS students.

We had the privilege of hosting Dr. Senthil Kumar Ganapathi, Senior Consultant, Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, Chennai, as the guest speaker for the session.

The event was also graced by Padma Shri Dr. Sarbeswar Saharia, Pro Vice Chancellor, USTM; Dr. H. K. Sharma, Principal, PIMC; Dr. A. C. Kataki, Director of Medical Administration, PIMC; and Dr. Jogesh Sharma, Director of Medical Education, PIMC.

The session provided students with valuable insights into the latest advancements in robotic and minimally invasive cancer treatment techniques. Students and faculty members of PIMC actively participated in the interactive discussion, making the session highly engaging and informative.

The programme inspired young future doctors to explore the evolving landscape of modern medical technology and oncology.
