➡️Ramsay Hunt Syndrome occurs when the varicella-zoster virus reactivates in the facial nerve near the ear. It may cause severe ear pain, painful blisters around the ear, facial weakness or paralysis, hearing loss, tinnitus and dizziness.

When You Know the Diagnosis… But Still Take the Wrong Treatment

“Doctor, I knew it was a fungal infection. But the chemist gave me Betnovate.”

This is a common and dangerous story. 🦠

A fungal infection needs an appropriate antifungal treatment. Steroid creams like Betnovate may rapidly reduce redness, itching and inflammation, creating a false impression of improvement—while the fungus continues to multiply.

👉Podowart (podophyllotoxin) can be effective for selected ge***al warts, but incorrect application, excessive quantity, application on normal skin, or prolonged use can cause significant chemical irritation and erosions. Once the skin barrier is damaged, secondary bacterial infection may develop, leading to pain, swelling, discharge and delayed healing.

💯Patients should never self-apply Podowart without proper instructions and counselling from a Dermatologist. Even when prescribed, the correct site, quantity, frequency and duration are important.
