Rasyana is often translated as Ayurveda’s approach to healthy aging.
But before it focuses on rejuvenation, it looks at what is being depleted.

We often mistake our imbalance for our personality. Ayurveda calls this difference Prakriti and Vikriti.

Sometimes what we “personality” is actually imbalance.
Prakriti is who you were born as.
Vikriti is what stress, lifestyle and environment may have added along the way.

Why do Kapha people often reach for sweets?
In Ayurveda, sweet taste is associated with nourishment, comfort and stability.
Kapha already carries these qualities, which is why sweet foods can feel especially appealing.
The question isn’t always “Why am I craving sugar?”
Sometimes it’s:
“What am I actually seeking more of right now?”
Have you noticed this in yourself?
👇 We’d love to hear your experience.

Many of us eat lunch while answering messages, checking emails, scrolling through social media, driving, planning the next task, or already thinking about what comes after the meal.
The food reaches the stomach, but our attention is somewhere else.
In Ayurveda, digestion is not viewed as a purely physical process. The state of the mind matters too. When we’re rushed, distracted, stressed, or multitasking, the body receives very different signals than when we are settled and present.
This doesn’t mean every meal has to be a mindful ceremony.
It simply means creating small moments of awareness.
Putting the phone down.
Taking a seat.
Looking at the food.
Taking a few slow breaths.
Allowing yourself to arrive before the first bite.
It’s a surprisingly simple practice, but many people notice that when they slow down, they become more aware of hunger, fullness, cravings, and how different foods actually make them feel.

How often do you eat without looking at a screen? 🌿
