Understanding your baby's movements during the final months of pregnancy is an important indicator of their well-being.
In this video, Dr. Neha Gupta, Senior Consultant - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Medanta, Gurugram, explains why monitoring fetal movements in the last trimester is essential. Expecting mothers should ideally feel 14-15 movements over about 12 hours, although brief pauses may occur as babies also sleep for short durations.
She also highlights that if no movement is felt for more than two hours, it is important to seek medical attention immediately. Along with tracking movements, tests such as ultrasound scans and the Non-Stress Test (NST) help doctors monitor the baby's growth, heart rate, and overall well-being inside the womb.
