Chikitsa Charitable Trust, registered in 1999, provides completely free primary health care (consultations & medicines) in and around Delhi-NCR. Except for a one-time registration fee of Rs 10 towards a Patient’s Medical History booklet, 'CHIKITSA' provides completely free primary health care (consultations and medicines) in localities where we function.

'CHIKITSA' started as a community health

initiative fifteen years ago at the Gauri Shankar Mandir at Sector 12, RK Puram, New Delhi, with a free clinic to serve nearby slum dwellers. Since then we have grown to three base clinics and ten mobile clinics in Delhi-NCR, using premises provided to us by local bodies or community organisations. Moreover, in cooperation with Kiwanis Club of New Delhi, we provide free artificial limbs at our base clinic in Sector 40, Gurgaon. Our free health services benefit residents of Sangam Vihar, Vasant Kunj, and Zakhira slum in Delhi, as also of Dundahera, Tigra, Chakkarpur and other villages in Gurgaon.

The past year has been a busy one for us at Chikitsa. Besides fulfilling our traditional mandate of providing free primary health care to the needy, we put our limited resources to good use and joined the fight against COVID-19. So far we have administered 2,272 free Covishield vaccinations to the underprivileged at Gurugram. Additionally, 22 camps were held in Gurugram since 1/1/2021, in cooperation with the Haryana Health Department, at which 980 free RTPCR/RA tests were arranged by Chikitsa.

Our old Ambulances served us well through the years and were particularly handy during the pandemic and the lockdown. Sadly their time was up and just in time Chikitsa received the new twinning duo. On 09/09/2021: Chikitsa received 2 new Maruti Eeco ambulances, donated by Sakata INX India Pvt Ltd. You see them here being inaugurated at our Sector 40 clinic in Gurugram.

With changing health requirements during the second wave of the COVID pandemic, Chikitsa has been quickly adapting to the altered circumstances. When our target group needed food, we distributed free food rations, when they needed RTPCR testing we facilitated it with the right authorities. Free RTPCR & RAT testing is available at Chikitsa Sector 40 dispensary in Gurugram every Monday in cooperation with the Health Department. The need of the hour is vaccination. Starting July 1, Chikitsa is providing it free at its Sector 40 clinic to underprivileged and disabled persons facing difficulty in accessing vaccination. Chikitsa has already provided free vaccination to 690 beneficiaries on July 1 & 2 and will provide a total of 2,650+ free Covishield shots over the next few weeks.

Alongside its free primary health care work, Chikitsa has been supporting local communities to overcome vaccine hesitancy and enable the illiterate, elderly, and differently-abled, to get vaccinated.

Donations in support of our efforts can only be accepted from Indian nationals. All donations to Chikitsa are eligible for tax deduction under Section 80 G of the Income Tax Act 1961 vide order no. DIT (E) 2011-2012/C-570/3864 dated 17/11/2011. Our Pan Card No. is AAATC3286G.
