Mostly (NOT ALL) elderly people I meet in India tell me their morning starts with tea, news & then a lot of time on the phone.

While travelling, I have seen a very different side of ageing…people in their 60s, 70s& even beyond gardening, cooking,
cleaning, walking, looking after animals, pursuing hobbies and doing their everyday work independently.
And I always wonder- why do we consider it “wrong” when our parents work after a certain age?
If my parents can cook, clean, carry their own things, garden, walk or help around the house, I WANT them to do it.

Not because I don’t want to help them, but because I want them to remain independent for as long as possible.

Healthy ageing isn’t about sitting and resting 24/7. Movement, social connection, meaningful activities and cognitive stimulation are all important for maintaining physical and brain health.

So please encourage your parents to MOVE, participate, learn, help and have a PURPOSE.

Growing older shouldn’t mean stopping living. ❤️

A volcano you can actually touch 🌋🤯

Azerbaijan’s mud volcanoes were such a fascinating experience - cold bubbling mud, gases rising from deep underground & us literally standing on a volcano!

And while I was happy just touching the mud… my son decided to take the experience to another level and took a full mud bath 😂🙈

Definitely one of the most unusual experiences from this trip! 🇦🇿 ̇jan

Another “anti-national” post because apparently wanting your country to learn from the good things you see elsewhere is anti-national. 😄🇮🇳

Today, our driver in Azerbaijan was 78 years old, driving us from one city to another, working independently & living life with purpose.

When I asked why he doesn’t simply stay with his children, his answer stayed with me. His children have their lives & he has his. They meet regularly but he still wants to work, stay active & keep moving forward.
I have noticed a similar attitude in Japan too.
In India, we often start treating 60 as an expiry date- “Ab umar ho gayi hai.” Maybe that’s one mindset we need to change.

Growing older doesn’t mean you stop working, exploring, learning or having your own life.

And yes, I’ll keep comparing India with other countries- not because I love India less, but because I know we can learn from the best things the world has to offer. 🇮🇳❤️

This is one of the most common questions I get: Can working parents homeschool their kids?
Yes, they can but it depends on the kind of work you do and the flexibility you have.

Today, I have been working for almost 6 hours while my kids are downstairs on the farm, learning from the owner about apple, almond &hazelnut trees and beekeeping. Yesterday, they were learning from a coppersmith.
Homeschooling doesn’t mean a parent has to sit & teach their child 24/7. Kids can learn through workshops, experiences, mentors, travel & independent work too.

But if both parents have 9–6 jobs outside the home, it can definitely be more challenging.

So don’t compare your situation with another family. Look at your work, responsibilities, flexibility & your child’s needs & then decide what works for your family.

For the longest time, I thought I was doing something wrong. Other parents’ kids studied for hours, while I could barely sit with mine for half an hour. And yes, I carried that mom guilt.

Homeschooling made me realise something: I wasn’t wrong, and parents of school-going kids aren’t wrong either. Our journeys are simply different.

Today, sitting in a small village in Azerbaijan, my kids are learning about farming, beekeeping, history and culture by actually experiencing them.

There is no single right way to raise or educate a child. Different children. Different parents. Different journeys. ❤️

Supplements are neither good nor bad- they’re simply there to bridge the gap.

If your body needs 60g of protein and you can comfortably meet that through food, you don’t need a supplement. But if your diet, routine, travel, or busy schedule makes it difficult to meet your requirements, supplements can help fill that gap.

Even when I travel, I use supplements only when I know my meals aren’t enough. Otherwise, I prefer getting my nutrition from food.

Food first. Supplements when needed. It’s really that simple. 🙌

We may live in different countries, speak different languages &follow different traditions but some things are beautifully the same. ❤️

In this small village in Azerbaijan, I simply asked for some local tea, and within minutes the table was filled with sweets to go along with it. ☕️🍬

It instantly reminded me of India where a guest can never be served “just tea.” We have to feed them & then feed them a little more! 😂

Different countries, different cultures, but the same warmth and hospitality. Some things truly have no borders. 🇦🇿❤️🇮🇳

Baku taught me the city never really sleeps. Village life in Azerbaijan taught me that life doesn’t always need to rush. ❤️

In Baku, we could find places open until 2–3 AM. Here in the village, by 8 PM, almost everything is shut and life becomes quiet.

And I feel this is true in so many parts of the world- cities teach us to keep going, while villages remind us to slow down. 🌿

Maybe village life isn’t slow… maybe city life is just too fast.

This one had to be on my milestone post. ❤️
Sice this is the 100th house I have stayed in over the last 3 years and 11 months. ❤️

When I started travelling extensively a few years ago, I never imagined that my 100th home would be in a tiny village in Azerbaijan staying close to local families, understanding their culture, listening to their stories & experiencing their way of life.
And somehow, I couldn’t have asked for a better place for this milestone.
100 houses. So many cities, villages, countries, people & memories. And with every place, a little more learning and a little more perspective.
Leaving this house today with a heart full of gratitude. ❤️
Here’s to wherever the next 100 homes take me. 🌍
