Fasting this Navratri with PCOS, thyroid issues or diabetes? Read this before Day 1.

You may be able to observe a fast with these conditions, but please don’t go into it without a plan. Your health comes first. 🙏

For diabetes, long gaps without food and large portions of sabudana, potatoes or sugary drinks can make blood sugar management harder.

For thyroid issues, your medication timing matters. Check with your doctor before changing your routine around vrat meals.

For PCOS, build balanced meals with protein-rich foods like paneer and curd, along with suitable vegetables and other foods that fit your individual needs.

Most importantly, speak to your doctor before starting your fast, especially if you take medication or use insulin. If you experience shakiness, sweating, dizziness or other concerning symptoms, stop fasting and seek medical advice promptly. If you suspect low blood sugar, follow your prescribed hypoglycaemia plan.

Please don’t change, delay or skip your medication to accommodate a fast without your doctor’s guidance.

Because devotion should never come at the cost of your health. ❤️

Save this for Navratri and share it with someone who needs the reminder.

Comment PLAN if you want practical vrat meal guidance tailored to your needs.

Fasting for 9 days shouldn’t mean fighting your hunger for 9 days.

Sabudana, kuttu puri, vrat snacks… none of these automatically make a meal healthy just because it’s Navratri.

And no, you don’t need to survive on chai all day and eat everything at night. 😅

The smarter approach? Keep your vrat food. Rethink how you build your plate, cook your meals and space out your eating.

Because weight management isn’t about eating less at every festival. It’s about learning to eat better in real life. 🙌

Follow Dt. Amar | Nutritionist for practical Indian nutrition advice that works with your food, family and lifestyle — not against them.

Know someone fasting this Navratri? Share this with them. ❤️

Your weight hasn’t moved. So you eat less.
Then you get hungrier. Tired. And somehow… still stuck.

This is where most weight-loss plans go wrong.

A plateau doesn’t automatically mean you need fewer calories.

Sometimes the problem is that you’re eating too little protein.

Sometimes your sleep is wrecking your hunger.
Sometimes the “small” bites, chai, snacks and weekend meals are adding up.

And sometimes… the scale simply isn’t telling you the full story.

So before you remove another roti or skip another meal, ask:

Are you actually stuck — or are you measuring progress badly?

Because sustainable fat loss isn’t about seeing the lowest number on the weighing scale.

It’s about losing fat without losing your muscle, energy and sanity along the way.

Follow Dt. Amar | Nutritionist if you want practical Indian nutrition advice that works with your normal food, normal life and real-world schedule.

Your weight looks fine. Your waist may tell a different story.

Nearly 4 in 10 Indian women have a waist circumference above 80 cm.

That matters because the weighing scale cannot tell you where you’re carrying fat. Abdominal fat can be a concern even when your overall weight looks normal.

The good news? You don’t need to starve yourself or chase a smaller number on the scale.

Start with the basics:

• Protein at every meal: dal, paneer, curd, eggs, tofu
• More vegetables: let them take up a bigger part of your plate
• Move after meals: even a 10-minute walk is a useful habit
• Stop chasing quick fixes: no detoxes, juice cleanses or crash diets

And this World Heart Day, don’t just step on the weighing scale.

Take a measuring tape. Measure your waist. Know your number. 📏

For Indian adults, a waist circumference above 80 cm for women and 90 cm for men is considered a higher-risk cut-off for abdominal obesity.

Your waist is not your worth. It is simply one health marker worth knowing. ❤️

If you’ve checked yours and don’t know what to do next, DM me “WAIST”. I’ll help you understand where to start.

Your chai may not be the problem.
What you eat with it 4 times a day might be.

That “just two biscuits” habit looks tiny. Repeat it every chai break, every day, and it quietly becomes part of your daily intake.

You don’t need to stop having chai. You need to stop making every chai break a mini-meal.

Small swaps. Better protein. More mindful portions. No extreme dieting.

If you’re trying to lose weight after 40, manage your diet around your family’s food, or simply want to understand what actually works for your body, follow Dt. Amar | Nutritionist

And if you’re done guessing what to eat, message us on WhatsApp for personalised guidance.

Save this for your next chai break.
Send it to the person who always says, “Bas ek biscuit aur.” 😄

That Monday morning jump on the weighing scale? It may be telling you almost nothing about your actual fat loss.

After a higher carb Sunday, your body stores more glycogen, and glycogen holds water. Add salt, poor sleep, digestion and hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle, and your weight can move by 1 to 2 kg without you gaining that amount in body fat.

So please do not let one Monday weigh in decide whether you had a “good” or “bad” week.

Real progress is bigger than the number on the scale. Look at your measurements, how your clothes fit, your strength, energy, consistency and your weight trend over time.

Sustainable weight loss is not about watching the scale drop every morning. It is about understanding what your body is actually doing.

If you want practical, evidence based guidance on women’s nutrition, fat loss and healthy habits without extreme dieting, follow Dt. Amar Arora.

Healthy eating is not always the same for everyone.

Your age may be the same.
Your weight may be the same.
You may even eat the same food at home.

But your health reports can tell a completely different story.

That’s why a generic diet chart, a “PCOS diet” from Instagram, or a one-size-fits-all weight loss plan may not be the right answer for you.

Therapeutic nutrition starts with a different question:

What does YOUR body and YOUR health history need?

Thyroid. PCOS. Prediabetes. Fatty liver. High cholesterol. High uric acid.

The goal isn’t to make your diet more restrictive. It’s to make your food more relevant to your health.

And this is where personalised nutrition can make a real difference.

Now tell us in the comments:

Which health condition or abnormal report have you struggled with the most?

You can simply comment: Thyroid, PCOS, Sugar, Cholesterol, Fatty Liver, Uric Acid — or anything else.

Let’s see what comes up most often. 👇

If you’re trying to lose weight, don’t start by cutting out everything you love.

Start with breakfast.

A simple, balanced breakfast can make a big difference to your hunger, energy and food choices through the day. And no, that doesn’t mean giving up your paratha, poha or roti.

Think less about eating “diet food” and more about building a better plate with the food you already eat at home.

Small changes. Better balance. More protein. No complicated diet rules.

Because sustainable weight loss is not about eating perfectly. It’s about making everyday meals work better for you.

Save this post for your next breakfast and follow Dt. Amar | Nutritionist for practical Indian nutrition, healthy weight loss and simple food strategies that fit real life.

**Ganpati Bappa Morya! 🙏**

Modaks are meant to be eaten. Simple as that.

The better way to enjoy festive food isn’t to avoid it — it’s to **eat your meal first and then have your sweet**.

One modak. Sitting down. Savouring it.

Because festivals were never the problem. It’s the skipped meals, the “I’ll eat later” mindset, and then suddenly finding yourself eating prasad on an empty stomach at 5 pm.

That’s when things get messy.

Ten days of celebration are ahead. **Eat properly. Enjoy the food. Stay active. Take care of yourself. And make space for the foods you love.**

You don’t have to put your health on hold just because it’s festival season.

**Celebrate Ganpati. Enjoy your modak. Keep looking after your body too.** ❤️

Send this to the family group before the prasad starts making its rounds. 😄

Your dinner doesn’t need to be tiny. It needs to be **complete.** 🍽️

If dinner is just plain soup or a small bowl of khichdi, you may feel “disciplined” at 8 PM… and absolutely starving by 11 PM. 😅

That’s not a willpower problem. Your meal simply didn’t keep you satisfied.

Try making dinner **light + balanced**:

🥣 Khichdi + a katori of curd
🫓 1 phulka + paneer bhurji + sabzi
🥗 Dal + salad + 1 phulka

You don’t need to stop eating carbs at night. You don’t need a “weight loss dinner” that leaves you hungry.

And if possible, finish dinner around **8–8:30 PM**. Give your body time to settle before bed.

A simple, balanced dinner can make a surprising difference to **night-time hunger, sleep and how you feel the next morning.**

Save this for tonight. ❤️
