Hello to all the lovely people here
So today I wanna talk about what is a very popular topic , so people ask me a lot about what to eat ,
Today I will tell you what to reduce in diet
Potatoes and tomatoes
however in many indian homes most vegetarian recipes are made from tomatoes and potatoes which despite being popular Vegetables should be taken in moderation , in fact many people do not take well to both of them ,
1. Tomatoes- they are better when cooked , they do loose their vitamin c while cooking and get enriched in antioxidants , so you can have in moderation
2.For people with constant gut issues , have atleast 2-3 tomato free days in a week and see the difference
3. They are not of Indian origin and we're brought here by Portugese , they have taken well to the Indian soil and the Indian tomato has a distinct flavour to its Mediterranean counterpart
4. Also cook tomatoes in healthy oil for better nutrition and flavour profile
5. They can aggravate pitta and vata so avoid if you are have recurrent gut and sinus issues

Now what to say about potatoes
1. They are the reason so many vegetarian or vegan people do not eat properly , infact urban Indian diet is so much potato dependent that it is shocking
2. It is not about calories , they have low prana level and really bog you down
3. They are also not of Indian origin and unfortunately they are most accessible vegetable in india now
4 . Again have potato free days or weeks to rule out any issues you might have with potatoes
5.potatoes can aggravate vata and kapha , so avoid if you have heaviness or pain in body

Both potatoes and tomatoes belong to nightshade family and the recent research on them is not promising, I will talk more about nightshade vegetables in coming posts
However being a enthusiastic home cook myself I understand their usage and importance , so request you to just have tomato or potato free meals every once in a while

I am often asked to name that one magic pill or magic potion that can solve a particular problem and how that person instantly needs it and most of times i want to tell the other person to take the above mentioned cliche but very effective 'chill pill' , it seems like trivial and you know everyone says that but here in I am trying to present the facts in such a way that most diseases can be traced to how we process our emotions and yes it is an universal truth that happy people are healthy people

so hope you accept this post as it is ,
Today's post is about H**p seed milk
- h**p seed milk is the milk made from the seeds of the plant most commonly known as Bhaang in india , the leaf here is for decorative purposes only
And leaves are not a part of this
H**p seed milk is made from the seeds also known as superfood heart which does not contain 'THC or CBD' or the compound which gives Bhaang or Ma*****na it's intoxicating properties,
so over a period of time the traditional Indian plant of cannabis sativa was made hybrid in en effort to increase quantity of intoxicating substances for commercial gains and the traditional Cannabis sativa is almost lost now, it was a treasured herb in Ayurveda and indian way of living
However due to its commercial farming and production of seeds, ironically what is now being sold at a very high price is h**p seed milk , which is an excellent sleep tonic and full of nutrition too
Nutritionally, what makes h**p a great non-diary alternative is that it naturally contains calcium (more calcium than dairy milk!), protein and has the added benefits of omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids in the ideal 1:3 ratio that promotes brain and heart health and is anti-inflammatory in the body.

So today microstep is really very simple and doesn't cost much
It is available in a powder form which you can mix with water to make the juice or it is available in a bottle form
But today raje some time out to read about how I make it
Just plant some wheat grains in a small pot , wait for it to grow to 5-6 inch of grass , take out the grass and whisk in the blender, sieve it to take out this shot of divine goodness in a glass,

Rich in proteins and fiber , it is very easy to sprout ,
It is a known nervine tonic due to its rich Vit B complex content
Great for your immune system
Because of its similarity to green moong it is often neglected by most Indian households , this is a drought resistant crop and nutri dense food , and also a sister of green gram but not the same
And because they are sisters they should be cooked or spouted together and not compared with each other

Hi!
So I have been on both journeys on weight loss and weight gain in my life and Just to make it clear that I have been body shamed or commented at all stages for gaining weight , trying out a diet (yes I have tried as a scientist and trust them they don't work)
or doing yoga when it was not this popular.,
for everything , so this is a very heartfelt post ,
I understand and empathize with each and everyone trying to lose or hain weight as it is not a one day thing ... It is a journey, a journey in which Ayurveda really helps
I seriously feel that having a particular desired body shape is very personalized and posting weight loss tips is a very big cliche and they seldom work
However if they are personalized after understanding your diet pattern, tendencies and ruling out imbalances only then directions can be given that will make you lose weight
So I posted a thread on the challenges you are facing and I have given an introduction to what would work for you
Try them out and let me know how they work for you
If your question didn't come here , I will reply to you in story thread
On a more personal note --
I am also on a delightful weight loss journey myself I gained some weight after having my daughter and could not get myself to shed it due to not spending enough time on myself , I would try to summarize and share it with you , so keep posted
I have had the most number of un follows for not being able to post content for the last one week, please bear with me because I don't advertise anything here and nothing is sponsored, sometime I am not able to post here as I need to earn some money for myself

The word Tailam itself is derived from til that is sesame in Sanskrit , so you can guess it is the king of oils in Ayurveda
The base of an ayurvedic life , it is indigenous to india and is imperative to use in your life
and it is useful for
Your hair
Your skin (as a base oil not singularly )
For oil pulling for your teeth
Your gut
The best oil to pacify Vata I.e. if you have restlessness, body aches, cramps , dryness, it is my personal request that you use this oil for self body massage and see the wonderful change that will happen
The oil that forms the basis of Panchkarm and kumkum aadi tailam the two iconic symbols of Ayurveda is worth including in your life
For healing your gut specially people who are looking for solving constipation
Take 1/2-1 spoon of pure and edible sesame seeds oil on en empty stomach and drink lukewarm water on top of it and sit in Mala asaan for 5 mins
For people looking for loosing weight take a mix of 1 spoon of sesame seeds and 5 raisins before starting your meals to get necessary nutrition and satiation
Hope sesame seeds and seed oil serve you well
PS -Black seeds are better but white seeds are good too, they are just two varieties of the same herb
This is the season to use and include sesame in your life

To All the lovely people, hope you all are doing well, this is a post I wanted to do since a long time , yes having a relaxed and straight spine is medicine, we have forgotten that 'the art of standing and sitting' was never an art but something that came naturally to us
Indian villagers were often shown sitting in squatting position as an symbol of rural life , well they are more attentive to their inner being as little did modern research know at that point that squatting or utkat aasaan or malaasana is infact a relaxing posture for the body
It relaxes all inner involuntary sphincters which relax the core & also the digestive system,
The spine or merodanda in Ayurveda is a dynamic entity of the body that actually governs your life , and having a straight and relaxed spine is imperative to having a healthy body
The more you continue with an incorrect posture , the more pressure you are putting on your core , the more digestion problems are going to increase and the hormones are going to go all over the place due to pressure on neck and abdomen,
Please let's purify , simplify our live with correct posture and amplify our health and happiness
We have to remind ourselves constantly because we tend to forget, even I do sometimes and I tell myself , it is ok , lets correct it and I tell everyone I see also .. this is important
Right posture is also medicine

Out of all the requests I got , one of the most common was Ayurveda for helping with Anxiety and depression and one of the leading cause of anxiety in many of the people I see is TOO MUCH CAFFEINE
Caffeine over stimulates the mind and depresses the hunger
I know they are a lot of tea and coffee lovers here who would like to believe otherwise but this post is aimed at reviewing your dependence on tea and coffee
And adopt what works the best for you

Food and the kitchen lies in the center of an ayurvedic life, in fact most people who love a healthy way of life turn into enthusiastic home chefs along the way because
Cooking Ayurvedically requires a certain thought process and eloquence.
I really wanted to do this post for a number of days as Safed petha or Benincasa or Ashgourd which is the main ingredient of this curry is in season and easily available
🤗This post has two aims
AIM 1
❤️Health benefits of Ashgourd
Rich in antioxidants, fibre and flavonoids
It is extremely useful for Gut health, stabilizing Hormones and stabilizing Blood sugar levels
It is useful for constipation as it detoxifies the guy and safe to use in pregnancy
You can have it as a juice first thing in the morning (blend 100g of gourd in a blender/juicer)
Or make Subzi with it like I have today
AIM 2Recipe -
Take some sesame seeds oil let it warm up , add some cumin and black mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds , add diced vegetables here I have added Ashgourd, moringa, a bit of potato(optional) , okra (2-3) and tomato (optional), also shredded coconut (makes it creamy-add it in the end) cook till soft, add salt and chilly according to taste
it is the most delectable curry ever, and it is from where all mix veg curry have originated, your mix veg curry needs to have Ash gourd , try it once to make it a part of your life

I really wanted to make a video for this as I am Hair enthusiast , I had very short hair while growing up I grew it very long and thick with Ayurveda and still maintain slightly shorter bair with help of basic ayurveda herbs I have included in this guide
In a ideal case scenario for Ayurveda , using oils and some basic herbs like ritha (soap ) and basic conditioning herb like Shikakai , is the best treatment for anyone and was the secret for many beautiful princesses of India , however most of use shampoo or conditioners so hence have paid some attention to help you select the right shampoo for your hair
Also try to switch to shampoo bars and shampoo conditioner to reduce plastic wastage

Hello to all lovely people here ,
Many nutritionists believe that essentially all diseases start as dietary deficiencies and Ayurveda agrees. Ayurveda says that the 'Gunas 'or qualities of the 'Patra' actually go in the food you are eating. It is so true I have personally seen drastic difference in Vit B12 levels , as it reaches equilibrium level within a months time when earthen pots was used for cooking
Almost every indian knows the importance of using 'Lohe ki Kadai' for people with iron deficiencies,
All these four pictures need and require separate post on how to use them and why to use them according to ayurved, and I will definitely create them, but I really want you to take your heirloom utensils out and cook with them

I am so grateful for the fact that there are curious and vibrant bunch of individuals on this page and I want everyone to contribute if they use any traditional vessel for cooking food , I am not talking about using copper to store and drink water , but may be you have wisdom from grandmother's and mother on what dishes taste best in what , please spare a minute to comment, I will be honoured
