📢 Boosting ABHA Creation Across Assam!

6 ABHA Canopies have been set up at 4 Government Health Facilities and 2 Medical Colleges across the State to facilitate and promote ABHA creation among citizens.

This initiative aims to make ABHA creation more accessible and strengthen the adoption of digital health services across Assam.

Strengthening digital healthcare through collaborative capacity building!

The DPMU, NHM, Hojai conducted a series of training sessions on ABHA ID creation for key frontline stakeholders at Srimanta Shankardev Nagar, Hojai.

The sessions covered:
• GP Secretaries in the esteemed presence of Hon'ble Chairperson, Zila Parishad, the respected Deputy Commissioner, and the respected CEO, Zila Parishad, at the Conference Hall, CEO, ZP Office.
• Bank Sakhis, ICDS Supervisors, and CRC Members.

These trainings are an important step towards strengthening digital health services, enhancing awareness, and ensuring wider adoption of the ABHA ecosystem for seamless access to healthcare services. National Health Authority

Two days of insightful discussions, collaborative learning, and collective commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery. TheChintan Shivir, held on 17–18 July 2026, organized by National Health Authority brought together delegates from all States and Union Territories to exchange ideas, share best practices, and chart the way forward for effective implementation of health initiatives across the country.

A One-Day Workshop on Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission was organized on 2nd July, 2026 for private healthcare facilities as part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the implementation of ABDM in Kamrup District, designated as the Model District by the Government of India.
The workshop featured comprehensive sessions on the core building blocks of ABDM. During the inaugural session, Ms. Monika Borgohain, Additional District Commissioner (Health), Kamrup, highlighted the strategic importance of Kamrup's designation as the Government of India's Model District in accelerating digital health transformation and fostering stakeholder participation in the implementation of ABDM. To strengthen awareness about and services under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), Assam, an awareness video campaign was successfully broadcast across five regional satellite television channels for one week.

Through this initiative, citizens were informed about the benefits of creating an ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account), enabling seamless access to digital health records, and the convenience of Scan & Share for faster, hassle-free registration at healthcare facilities. National Health Authority

National Health Mission,Assam and Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), Assam organized a Problem Discovery Workshop to identify key operational and programmatic challenges across the health system and explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in addressing them.
Distinguished participants included by Dr. Ballepu Kalyan Chakravarthy, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayat & Rural Development and Cultural Affairs Departments, Government of Assam, Shri K. S. Gopinath Narayan, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam; Shri Kailash Karthik N., IAS, Director of Land Records & Surveys, Assam; Dr. Lakshmanan S., IAS, Mission Director, NHM & ABDM, Assam; Dr. Abhijit Sarma, Executive Director, NHM Assam; Ms. Lakhimi Dutta, ACS, OSD, NHM Assam; and Dr. Umesh Phangcho, Director of Health Services, Assam.
The workshop brought together senior officials and domain experts to deliberate on opportunities for leveraging AI to enhance decision-making, improve service delivery, strengthen data-driven governance, and optimize healthcare outcomes across the State.

An Inception Meeting for the implementation of the “Model District” initiative under (ABDM) was organised at IIT Guwahati on 4 June, 2026.

The meeting brought together representatives from ABDM, National Health Authority, IIT Guwahati , Assam, JDHS Kamrup, TATA MD DiNC, CARE HMIS, health officials, frontline health workers and ASHA workers. Key discussions focused on the ABDM framework, district-level implementation plan, and strengthening digital health service delivery through coordinated action.
