Rare Case: 4 Toes Shorter Than the Rest 👣

This patient came to us from Ranchi, Jharkhand with four toes noticeably shorter than the rest — a condition called Brachymetatarsia. It usually affects only 1-2 toes, but here all four were involved, making it a rare case.

An X-ray was done before surgery, the procedure was successful, and the patient is already walking again.

Both feet currently have a fixator in place, which will stay on for 3-4 months. Since the patient is from Ranchi, recovery will be monitored over phone calls and X-rays, and he'll be called in only when it's time to remove the fixator.

If you or someone in your family has toes that are unusually short or oddly shaped from birth, don't ignore it — get it checked.
