DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) is a condition where a blood clot forms in the deep veins, usually in the legs.

It can cause:

Leg swelling

Pain or heaviness

Warmth or redness

The danger is that the clot can travel to the lungs and cause a Pulmonary Embolism (PE), which can be life-threatening.

Treatment may include:

Blood thinners

Compression therapy

Mechanical thrombectomy or clot removal in selected cases

Early diagnosis can prevent serious complications.

Vertebral Artery Stenting – Case Snapshot

Elderly male with recurrent posterior circulation strokes.
Left vertebral artery – chronically occluded.
Right vertebral artery – critical (60–70%) ostial stenosis.

Transradial endovascular stenting of the right vertebral artery was performed successfully, restoring adequate flow.

Patient stable with no new neurological events on follow-up.

It was pleasure and an honour to be faculty member at the 8th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ISGAR), held in Delhi.
I had the opportunity to conduct a workshop on Vascular Closure Devices in the Interventional Radiology section.
