Visiting one of India’s most prestigious and respected institutions, CMC Vellore, was a truly special experience. I am deeply honoured to have been felicitated by the distinguished heads and faculty of the institution.

𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 has a unique and invaluable role in the management of several ophthalmic malignancies, offering the possibility of precise, highly localised treatment while preserving the eye and, whenever possible, vision. It has been a privilege to share my experience and learn alongside colleagues dedicated to advancing cancer care.

My sincere gratitude to the Indian Brachytherapy Society and the entire CMC Vellore team for this honour and for their warm hospitality.

A Heartfelt Felicitation by My Fellow Golfers

I was deeply honoured and humbled to be felicitated by the Management Committee and members of the Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA), Golconda, Hyderabad, in recognition of being conferred the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honours.

This felicitation was particularly special to me because it came from my fellow golfers and from a community that has been an important part of my life. HGA is where I regularly play and where I have been a proud permanent member for many years.

I am immensely grateful to the HGA management and the entire golfing community for this warm and heartfelt gesture.

I am equally thankful to HGA and its members for their generous and consistent support to the Cure Foundation’s fundraising initiatives for the past 14 years. Their support has helped us reach out to and provide treatment and assistance to hundreds of children affected by cancer.

In fact, supporting children with cancer through the Cure Foundation has been one of the important and deeply fulfilling aspects of my journey—and a significant reason why this Padma Shri recognition is so meaningful to me.

To be felicitated by the very people with whom I share my passion for golf, while also sharing a common commitment to giving back to society, makes this occasion truly special.

I am immensely grateful to the IMA leadership for this warm and gracious gesture. What touched me most was the citation, which beautifully acknowledged not only the Padma Shri recognition, but also my 35 years of service in medicine, cancer care, social service and commitment to giving back to society.

For me, the Padma Shri is not merely a personal honour—it is a recognition of the collective efforts of my patients, colleagues, mentors, family and everyone who has been part of this journey.

The citation was particularly touching because it reminded me that the true fulfilment of a medical career lies not only in treating disease, but in serving people, creating awareness, extending hope and making a meaningful difference to society.

My heartfelt thanks to the Indian Medical Association for this wonderful recognition and for making the occasion so special.

I accept this honour with deep humility, gratitude and a renewed commitment to serve the medical profession and society with even greater dedication. 🙏

A wonderful and meaningful interaction at PMX Health, Hyderabad, where I was invited for a podcast on health, cancer awareness and survivorship.

My sincere thanks to Dr. Samantha Tulla, a wonderful host and an exceptionally engaging anchor, who brought out the very best in me through her thoughtful questions and warm conversation.

We spoke about cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, hope and, importantly, life beyond cancer. Survivorship is not just about living longer—it is about living better and living fully.

I hope this conversation reaches millions of people, encourages greater awareness, dispels fear and empowers individuals to take charge of their health.

Today was truly a moment of immense pride and privilege as I had the 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, 𝗔𝗯𝗶𝗱𝘀, 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗱, 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟴𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

What made the occasion even more special and deeply personal was the joy of sharing the dais with my son, Dr. P. Vijay Karan Reddy, an alumnus of Little Flower High School and the Guest of Honour. To see the school that shaped him honour him today was a particularly proud moment for our family.

Having my wife and granddaughter present on this memorable occasion made it even more meaningful.

I am deeply grateful to the Principal, management, teachers and students of Little Flower High School for the warm welcome, affection and gracious felicitation.

I leave with a heart full of gratitude and humility. It was truly an honour to celebrate our nation’s freedom with the young minds who will shape India’s future.

As we celebrate 80 years of independence, I feel deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute, in my own way, to the health and well-being of our people.

The progress of a nation is built through the collective efforts of its citizens. Let us continue to serve with sincerity, uphold our responsibilities and work towards a healthier and stronger India.

A Special and Proud Independence Day

I am deeply honoured to be invited as the Chief Guest for the Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony at Little Flower High School, Abids, Hyderabad.

What makes this occasion even more special and memorable for me is the privilege of sharing the dais with my son, Dr. P. Vijay Karan Reddy, a proud alumnus of Little Flower High School, who has been invited as the Guest of Honour.

As a father, it is a deeply cherished moment to stand beside my son at his school, celebrating our nation’s Independence Day and the values of education, discipline, integrity and service.

I am truly delighted and grateful to the Little Flower family for giving us this wonderful opportunity to be part of this celebration.

A proud and humbling moment at 𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗖𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗵𝗶

The Indian Society of Oncology (ISO) is a unique confluence of surgical, medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists and allied specialists, united by one common purpose — to provide the best possible care to people affected by cancer.

It was indeed a great honour and privilege to be felicitated at the Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Oncology in New Delhi.

My heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Society of Oncology for this honour. I accept it with great humility and, more importantly, as a tribute to the countless oncologists across India who work tirelessly with dedication, compassion and commitment to serve patients battling cancer.

This honour belongs not to me alone, but to the entire oncology fraternity of India. 🙏

Guest of Honour at 𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗖 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝘂-𝟭𝟬𝟲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘆𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿, 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝘂𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽, 𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗖, 𝗠𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗶.

It was particularly special to reflect on the journey of India’s first indigenously developed Ru-106 plaque for ocular cancer. Dr. Santosh Honavar and I had the privilege of being the clinicians who initiated, worked closely with, and guided the BARC scientific team in developing this indigenous plaque, drawing upon our clinical experience with ocular plaque brachytherapy.

This was a wonderful example of clinicians and scientists coming together with a shared goal—to make advanced cancer treatment affordable and accessible to patients across India.

The indigenous Ru-106 plaque, developed at a fraction of the cost of imported plaques, has helped expand access to this important eye-saving treatment.

For me, the greatest reward is knowing that this collaboration has helped save eyes and preserve vision for countless patients.

My sincere gratitude to the brilliant scientists and engineers at BARC and all those who contributed to this remarkable journey. Proud to have been part of this important milestone in Indian cancer care. 🇮🇳🙏
