Lichen Planus
Lichen Planus (LP) is a chronic inflammatory condition that can affect the skin, scalp, nails, mouth and other mucosal areas. It occurs when the immune system becomes overactive and causes inflammation in the affected tissues.
It may appear as itchy, reddish-purple or brownish patches, bumps, or lesions. When it affects the scalp, it can sometimes lead to inflammation around the hair follicles and hair loss.
Lichen Planus can vary from person to person. Early evaluation and appropriate treatment can help control inflammation, reduce symptoms and prevent complications.
Important: Lichen Planus is different from a simple skin allergy or infection and should be evaluated by a qualified dermatologist or healthcare professional.
