Did you know your iron needs double during pregnancy?

Dr. Udita Mukherjee explains that this "wonder tablet" is vital for your baby’s growth and managing your increased blood volume. To maximize benefits, take your iron on an empty stomach with citrus juice—like lemon or orange—to supercharge absorption. Avoid mixing it with calcium, and don't worry if you notice a black coating on your tongue; it’s actually a sign of success! Stay consistent to keep fatigue and complications at bay for a healthier journey to motherhood.

During pregnancy, your body’s iron needs double to support your growing baby and a 50% increase in blood volume. While iron tablets might not be your favorite, they are crucial in preventing complications like preterm birth and fatigue.

For the best results, take them on an empty stomach with a splash of citrus juice to boost absorption! Remember to keep them separate from your calcium supplements to ensure you get the full benefits. Your health and your baby’s development are worth every tablet!

On World Cancer Day, we are reminded that awareness is not just knowledge —
it is protection.

Gynaecological cancers often start quietly, without obvious symptoms.
But early screening, timely check-ups, and active awareness can save lives long before cancer becomes advanced.

Let’s stand together in encouraging every woman to prioritise her health,
because early detection isn’t just treatment —
it’s empowerment, prevention, and hope. 💜
