Happy Doctors’ Day!

“A doctor’s greatest achievement is not just curing disease, but inspiring healthier lives and building a stronger nation.”

On this Doctors’ Day, I bow with gratitude to every doctor who dedicates their life to healing with compassion, integrity, and selfless service.

As an Ayurveda Medical Officer, I believe that treating a patient is not just a profession—it is a sacred responsibility and a service to the nation. Every life we heal, every family we comfort, and every community we empower brings us one step closer to a healthier and stronger India.

I reaffirm my commitment to serve with empathy, uphold the values of Ayurveda, and work tirelessly for the well-being of every individual. My white coat is not just a symbol of medicine—it is a promise of hope, humanity, and unwavering dedication.

Happy Doctors’ Day! 🇮🇳

Pratimarsha Nasya is a simple daily Ayurvedic therapy in which 2 drops of medicated oil or ghee are instilled into each nostril. It is a mild form of Nasya Karma (nasal administration of medicine) that can be practiced regularly to maintain the health of the nose, head, and sense organs.

According to Ayurveda, the nose is the gateway to the head (“Nasa Hi Shiraso Dwaram”), and Pratimarsha Nasya helps nourish the tissues of the head and neck region.

Key Benefits:

* Lubricates the nasal passages and prevents dryness.
* Supports sinus and respiratory health.
* Improves memory, concentration, and sleep quality.
* Strengthens the eyes, ears, and voice.
* Helps balance Vata and Kapha Dosha.
* Promotes healthy hair and delays premature greying according to Ayurvedic texts.

14 Kaal (Suitable Times for Pratimarsha Nasya)

1. After waking up (end of night)
2. At the end of the day
3. After meals
4. After vomiting
5. After daytime sleep
6. After long walking or travel
7. After physical exhaustion
8. After sexual in*******se
9. After head oil massage
10. After gargling (Kavala/Gandusha)
11. After urination
12. After application of collyrium (Anjana)
13. After defecation
14. After brushing the teeth

Pratimarsha Nasya is generally performed with 2 drops of medicated oil (such as Anu Taila or other suitable Nasya oil) in each nostril, preferably under the guidance of an Ayurvedic physician, especially in people with acute illness or specific medical conditions.

In Ayurveda, Dhoomapana (medicated smoking/inhalation of herbal smoke) is used mainly for disorders of the head, neck, and respiratory tract caused by aggravated Kapha and Vata dosha.

Uses of Dhoomapana:

* Relieves cough (Kasa) and excess phlegm.
* Helps in cold, rhinitis, and nasal congestion.
* Reduces headache caused by Kapha or Vata.
* Improves voice quality and clears the throat.
* Helps in sinus-related complaints.
* Removes heaviness of the head and excessive sleepiness.
* Supports oral hygiene by reducing bad breath and oral secretions.
* Promotes clarity of the sense organs and mental alertness.

Important: Dhoomapana should be performed only with appropriate medicated herbs and under proper Ayurvedic guidance. It is different from to***co smoking and is contraindicated in certain conditions such as bleeding disorders, severe Pitta aggravation, pregnancy, and extreme weakness.

Types: Prayogika (daily use), Snaihika (unctuous), and Vairechanika (eliminative/strong Kapha-clearing).
