🌞 DAY 1 RECAP – Summer Camp 2025
Theme: Understanding Ageing & Building Empathy
ACMERI Asha Care Skill Institute
Day 1 began with energy, curiosity, and a shared mission — to build caring hearts and compassionate minds. ❤️
📌 Highlights of the Day:
👨⚕️ The camp was warmly inaugurated by Dr. Arvind Mathur, whose thoughtful direction laid the foundation for a meaningful week ahead.
🎤 The day was guided beautifully by Ruchira ji, Manisha ji, and Samita ji, who ensured that every activity ran smoothly and that every child felt heard and involved.
🌟 Khyati brought a wave of creativity and warmth — starting the day with a fun icebreaker activity, helping campers get to know each other, and making everyone feel instantly at ease. She also led a vibrant introduction session, sparking interaction and enthusiasm among the group.
🧠 Dr. Abha ji conducted an engaging and insightful session on understanding ageing, exploring how growing older affects us physically, emotionally, and socially — helping the campers connect deeply with the elderly experience.
👓 In a powerful empathy simulation activity, children wore frosted glasses, earplugs, and hand restrictions to experience the limitations faced by older adults. It was a moving, eye-opening experience for all.
🎨 The day then took a colorful turn with a heartfelt card-making session led by Ruchira ji, Manisha ji, and Samita ji, where children poured their emotions into creative handmade cards for elders.
🗣️ We ended with a touching reflection circle, where each camper shared what they felt and learned. Many expressed a deeper appreciation for their grandparents and the elderly in their lives.
💛 From learning to empathy, creativity to care — Day 1 was the perfect start to something truly special.
