Your period pain was never supposed to be this bad.

We’re taught to just endure it the cramps, the mood swings, the cravings, the exhaustion. But so much of how your period *feels* is decided in the days before it even arrives.

The week before, your progesterone drops, serotonin dips, and inflammation rises. That’s your cramps and your low mood. And what you eat in those days can calm the storm or quietly feed it.

Eat more of these:
🌿 Magnesium — pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate, palak (eases cramps + mood)
🌿 Omega-3 — flax, walnuts, chia (lowers inflammation)
🌿 Iron — dates, rajma, beetroot (replaces what you lose)
🌿 Complex carbs — oats, jowar, bajra (steady energy, fewer cravings)

Go easy on these:
🍂 Excess caffeine, too much salt, ultra-processed sugar — they make cramps, bloating and mood swings worse.

And a few tiny habits do a lot: a 10-minute walk, warm foods over cold, 7–8 hours of sleep, and sipping water through the day.

Your next period can genuinely feel different. 💛

📌 Save this for next month.

⚠️ One important note: severe or disabling period pain isn’t normal — please see your gynaecologist. It can be a sign of PCOS or endometriosis.

Your HbA1c tells a story but not the whole story. 🩸

HbA1c reflects your average blood sugar over the previous 2–3 months, making it one of the most commonly used tests for diabetes and prediabetes.

But here’s what many people don’t realize:

✔️ Two people can have the same HbA1c while experiencing very different blood sugar patterns throughout the day.

That’s why many diabetes experts now also look at Time in Range (TIR)—how much time your glucose stays within the recommended target range, particularly for people using continuous glucose monitoring (CGM).

Here’s how HbA1c is generally interpreted:
🟢 Below 5.7%: Normal
🟡 5.7–6.4%: Prediabetes
🔴 6.5% or above: Diabetes (requires confirmation and medical evaluation)

One important caveat:
Iron deficiency and some forms of anemia can affect HbA1c results, making them appear higher or lower than your true average blood sugar.

Your HbA1c is an important number—but it’s not the only one that matters. Always interpret your results in the context of your overall health and with guidance from your healthcare provider.

Protein gets all the attention… but fiber is the real MVP.
If you’re constantly dealing with:
✨ Bloating
✨ Constipation
✨ Cravings
✨ 4 PM energy crashes
✨ Blood sugar spikes

…it might not be a protein problem.

It could be a fiber problem.

The average person eats far less fiber than they actually need, and your gut, metabolism, and hormones feel the impact.

The good news? You don’t need expensive supplements or imported superfoods.

🥣 Your everyday desi kitchen is already full of incredible fiber-rich foods—you just need to know how to include them.

💬 Comment “FIBER” and I’ll send you my list of fiber-rich foods that are easy to add to your daily meals.

📌 Save this reel for your next grocery run and share it with someone who thinks protein is the only nutrient that matters.

🍀Nature’s Ozempic?
You’ve probably seen countless posts claiming that a single food like chia seeds, apple c***r vinegar, or oats is “Nature’s Ozempic.”
Here’s the truth:
❌ There is no single food that works like GLP-1 medications.
GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1) is a hormone your body naturally produces. It helps:
✔️ Increase fullness
✔️ Reduce hunger
✔️ Slow stomach emptying
✔️ Support healthy blood sugar levels
The good news? You can support your body’s natural GLP-1 response through your daily food choices.
🥚 1. Protein Eggs, paneer, Greek yogurt, fish, chicken, tofu, dals and legumes.
🥗 2. Fibre Vegetables, fruits, oats, beans, lentils, flaxseeds and chia seeds.
🥑 3. Healthy fats Nuts, seeds, avocado and extra virgin olive oil.
🥣 4. Fermented foods Curd, kefir and other fermented foods that nourish your gut microbiome.
🍓 5. Colourful plant foods Berries, green tea, cocoa and herbs are rich in polyphenols that support overall metabolic and gut health.

Your plate not a single “superfood” is what naturally supports your appetite hormones.
And remember, if you’re prescribed a GLP-1 medication, food is meant to complement your treatment not replace it.
As a dietitian, my goal isn’t to sell quick fixes. It’s to help you build sustainable habits that work for life.

💚 Save this post for later and share it with someone who keeps asking about Ozempic.

👇 Tell me in the comments: Which of these foods do you already include every day?

The post-lunch walk is the most underrated health habit in India.

Every afternoon, 300 million office workers crash at their desks. Most blame the rice. Some skip lunch entirely.

The real problem? Your blood sugar spikes too fast after eating. Insulin floods in. Tryptophan crosses into your brain. Serotonin rises. You’re asleep by 3 PM.

A 10-minute walk changes everything.

Your muscles have glucose channels (GLUT4 transporters) that only open when you move. They pull sugar directly from your blood. No insulin needed. Blood sugar flattens. The crash disappears.

Studies show this reduces glucose spikes by 30-50%. Not jogging. Not running. Walking. At normal speed.

Office corridor. Society compound. Around the canteen. It doesn’t matter where.

Over time, post-meal walks improve insulin sensitivity so much that they lower HbA1c levels. Even without diet changes.

Start today. Lunch is in a few hours.

Save this. Send to your sleepy colleague.
Follow for science that changes habits, not just knowledge.
