A Minimally Invasive Solution for a Giant Liver Hemangioma

Sharing a successfully treated case of a symptomatic giant liver hemangioma involving segment VI of the liver.

The patient presented with persistent right hypochondrial pain and underwent endovascular embolization using Bleomycin-TACE. Selective catheter-based treatment resulted in complete embolization of the lesion, followed by significant symptomatic relief after the procedure.

This case highlights how Interventional Radiology can provide effective, minimally invasive treatment options for selected vascular liver lesions—often avoiding the need for major surgery.

Complex Ruptured Brain Aneurysm Successfully Treated with Flow Diverter-Assisted Coiling

This patient suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage while in visiting his son in Canada approximately 3 weeks prior to presentation. Following initial stabilization, the patient amd family returned to Kolkata to continue definitive treatment, placing their trust in the expertise of doctors in Bengal.

Cerebral angiography revealed a subacutely ruptured left paraophthalmic internal carotid artery aneurysm. After careful evaluation and treatment planning, the aneurysm was successfully treated using flow diverter-assisted coiling at Manipal Hospitals, Mukundapur in the advanced neurovascular biplane cathlab. Patient was discharged within 2 days of the procedure.

The images demonstrate:
• Diagnostic angiography showing the aneurysm .
• 3D rotational angiography for procedural planning

Right carotid stenting done for a patient from far mizoram who had a prior minor stroke. Carotid stenting is a minimally invasive procedure where angioplasty of the narrowed neck vessel is done followed by putting a stent under filter device protection to prevent peripricedural stroke. The aim is to increase blood flow to the brain and prevent future major disabling stroke.

This patient came to us from Jamshedpur in a comatose state. He was found to have diffuse subarachnoid hemorrhage with intraventricular hemorrhage due to ruptured Right Vertebral artery dissecting aneurysm, which was treated using flow diverter stent and patient made a complete neurological recovery far from our expectation. The entire procedure was done through a pinhole in groin without cutting the skull. The procedure was done at Manipal Hospitals, Kolkata.
