I was scrolling and saw Jenna Ortega. Have you noticed how “super skinny” has suddenly become the beauty standard again?
Celebrities showing up looking extremely thin- collarbones and ribs visible, cheeks completely HOLLOW, faces looking almost skeletal - and the internet is flooded with comments like “I need to get this skinny.”
But we need to pause and ask ourselves: when did looking UNWELL become the goal?
Because what you see on a red carpet is one moment. What you don’t see is extreme dieting, short cuts, under-eating and chasing a very low body weight - and what it can do to your hormones, muscles, bones and overall health.
Your goal shouldn’t be to look like the thinnest person in the room.
It should be to be healthy enough to live your life for decades to come.
Thin ≠ healthy.
And smaller ≠ better.
