It may be a sign of infection, diabetes-related complications, or poor blood circulation.

If a wound is not improving, keeps reopening, has pus, foul smell, swelling, skin colour change, or appears on the foot of a diabetic patient, do not delay medical consultation.

Early diagnosis can prevent serious complications.
