31,000 physicians, across India, trained on HPV vaccination in just one year.
This milestone reflects a powerful collaboration between Cancer Foundation of India and the Indian Medical Association (IMA), brought to life by a supercharged National HPV Faculty from FOGSI.
Supported by the American Cancer Societyican Cancer Society, this initiative marks a first for India. For CFI, leading its implementation has been both a privilege and deeply satisfying.
Together, we move closer to eliminating cervical cancer from India.

Conversations matter! When informed, adolescents speak without fear, it signals progress not just in policy, but in public confidence.

These young girls understand prevention, that families are choosing evidence over misinformation, and that public health messages are reaching communities.

On the day of the launch on 28th February, 2026, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, interacted directly with girls who had received the HPV vaccine, asking what they knew about it, whether anyone discouraged them, and if they felt afraid. Their confident, informed responses reflect growing awareness and trust in science.

HPV vaccination is about elimination of cervical cancer.
HPV vaccination is about protecting futures.

Stay anchored in scientific evidence, not noise.

Tomorrow, as India takes a powerful step forward with the launch of the HPV vaccination campaign, let us choose facts over fear.

At moments like this, it is essential to remain grounded in science. The HPV vaccine is backed by more than two decades of robust global safety data. It is recommended by the World Health Organization and is part of national immunisation programmes in over 150 countries worldwide.

Cervical cancer is caused by a virus. We have a safe and effective vaccine to prevent it. This is public health in action.

Cervical cancer is a preventable disease. It is also curable if detected early and adequately treated. Yet it remains one of the most common cancers and causes of cancer-related death in women across the globe.

India is stepping into a historic public health moment (28th February, 2026)
We are taking a firm step towards cervical cancer elimination.
This is not just a vaccine rollout. It is a promise to our daughters. A promise of health, dignity and a cervical cancer free future.

Let us stand by science.
Let us counter misinformation with evidence.
Let us ensure our girls are protected.

CFI in Aizawl (Mizoram) on World Cancer Day!
Cancer Foundation of India is proud to be invited at the Health Conclave 2026 organised by the Health Department of the Government of Mizoram and the World Bank Group.
CFI's co-founder, Sutapa Biswas, spoke on the cervical cancer elimination plan for the northeast, highlighting the power of prevention and partnerships. The moment also reflected CFI’s long journey in the region, which began with the IARC WHO HPV vaccine dosage study where 500 girls were vaccinated and followed for 15 years.
From research to action, CFI remains committed to protecting every girl and advancing cervical cancer elimination across the northeast.

On World Cancer Day 2026, the Cancer Foundation of India launches CFI Cancer Patient Voices, a national platform that places lived experiences at the centre of cancer care. The initiative amplifies patient and caregiver voices with dignity and consent, fosters dialogue with clinicians and policymakers, and generates insights to strengthen equitable, patient centred care. Grounded in ethics, inclusion, and non commercial integrity, the platform seeks to translate real world experiences into meaningful advocacy and system improvement. By listening to those most affected, CFI aims to advance compassionate, responsive, and evidence informed cancer control in India.
