When a fibroid is large enough to affect the uterus or interfere with fertility, removing it can be an important step before planning pregnancy.

Let's understand from the ultrasound of this patient before and after fibroid removal. The large fibroid had increased the size of the uterus and was affecting the uterine cavity. After surgery, the fibroid is no longer visible, the uterine cavity has a healthy appearance, and the ovaries are also looking normal.

The goal of fibroid treatment is not simply to remove a growth, but to restore the uterus to the best possible condition for the next step in the fertility journey.

Now that the uterus has healed and the cavity looks healthy, the couple can move forward with their planned fertility treatment.

Fibroids can be a major concern for women planning a pregnancy, but the treatment approach matters just as much as the diagnosis.

This patient had uterine fibroids that needed to be removed before proceeding with her fertility treatment.

She underwent laparoscopic surgery, a minimally invasive “keyhole” procedure, to remove the fibroids while preserving the uterus and, importantly, keeping the uterine cavity intact.

On her latest ultrasound, the fibroid has been completely removed and the uterus is looking healthy and ready for the next step in her fertility journey.

After surgery, allowing the uterus adequate time to heal is essential. Once the recommended recovery period is complete, the fertility treatment can be planned further, followed by embryo transfer at the appropriate time.

The goal is not just to remove the fibroid, but to prepare the uterus for a healthy pregnancy.

Two embryos transferred. Two little heartbeats. One beautiful moment.

After a previous unsuccessful IVF attempt, this couple returned with renewed hope. In this cycle, two embryos were transferred, and today the ultrasound revealed something truly special - both embryos had implanted, and both heartbeats were clearly visible.

For this couple, it was an incredibly emotional moment. But remember, a twin pregnancy also comes with additional risks and requires closer monitoring throughout pregnancy.

While single embryo transfer is often preferred today to reduce the risks associated with multiple pregnancy, treatment decisions are individual and depend on factors such as the patient's history, embryo quality, age, and previous IVF outcomes.

Seeing those tiny heartbeats is another beautiful milestone, followed by careful monitoring and care.

Is your semen analysis normal, but pregnancy is still not happening?

One possible reason could be DNA Fragmentation Index (DFI), a test that evaluates the quality of s***m DNA, not just the s***m count or motility.

Let's understand how the DFI test is performed. Under the microscope, s***ms with a normal DNA structure form a characteristic "halo," while those with damaged DNA show little or no halo. By analysing these patterns, the percentage of s***m with DNA fragmentation is calculated.

In general:
- DFI below 15% is considered reassuring.
- DFI between 15–30% may require treatment and lifestyle modifications.
- DFI above 30% is associated with significantly higher DNA damage and may affect fertility outcomes.

A high DFI can be influenced by factors such as smoking, alcohol, obesity, infections, varicocele, excessive heat exposure, environmental toxins, and oxidative stress. In many cases, lifestyle changes and appropriate treatment can help improve s***m DNA quality.

Remember, a routine semen analysis doesn't tell the whole story. For couples facing recurrent miscarriages, repeated IVF failures, or unexplained infertility, DFI testing may provide valuable answers in selected cases.

This is a conversation that happens more often than people realize.

Let's discuss an important issue in infertility care - the stigma surrounding male infertility.

Many couples assume that fertility problems are primarily a woman's concern. But the reality is that male factors contribute to a significant proportion of infertility cases. Low s***m count, reduced motility, or poor s***m quality are medical conditions, not a reflection of masculinity, strength, or self-worth.

Unfortunately, some men find it difficult to accept a diagnosis because they associate it with shame or inadequacy. This delay in acceptance often delays treatment as well.

The first step towards a solution is understanding that infertility is a medical condition, not a personal failure.

The good news is that many male fertility issues can be managed with lifestyle changes, medications, IUI, IVF, or other assisted reproductive techniques. But treatment can only begin when we acknowledge the problem.

Let's stop blaming, stop judging, and start talking openly about male infertility.

Because acceptance is often the first step towards parenthood.
