🧘♀️When I began practicing yoga, I honestly thought it was only about the body. I joined because I wanted to feel less stiffness, improve my posture, and maybe feel a bit more active.
In the first few days, I didn’t notice any big physical change. I still couldn’t bend properly. My body felt the same. But something else started changing quietly.
I felt slightly more at ease without knowing why.
My breathing felt slower and deeper on its own.
I wasn’t getting irritated as quickly as before.
I could sit for a while without feeling the urge to move or check my phone.
It surprised me because I had expected changes in flexibility, not in how I felt inside.
I began to sleep more peacefully.
Small daily issues didn’t disturb me as much.
I started becoming aware of my own thoughts and reactions.
That’s when I understood that yoga had started working on my mind before showing any result in my body.
Gradually, as my mind felt calmer, my body also began to feel lighter and more cooperative. But the very first change I experienced was a sense of inner calm that I hadn’t felt before.
For me, yoga didn’t begin with touching my toes.
It began with feeling a little more peaceful within myself.❣️
