Many patients ask me why some centers advertise “liposuction without surgery, blood tests or anesthesia.” This is where awareness becomes important.
True liposuction is always a surgical procedure. If someone is offering liposuction without basic blood tests, fitness evaluation or anesthesia, you should be cautious. In a genuine setup, I ensure proper investigations are done, an anesthesiologist evaluates you, and only then the procedure is performed safely.
Non-invasive technologies like CoolSculpt or HIFU are often marketed as liposuction, but they are not the same. These machines deliver energy to reduce some fat, whereas liposuction physically removes fat cells and therefore delivers more visible and long-lasting contouring results.
During liposuction, anesthesia is given, tiny incisions are made, tumescent solution is injected, and fat is gently suctioned out. The procedure is done on specific body areas such as tummy, thighs, love handles, chest or buttocks, not the entire body at once. Terms like full body liposuction can be misleading.
Liposuction is meant for body contouring, not weight loss. It helps improve shape, clothing fit and overall definition. Non-invasive treatments may provide mild or temporary change, but for significant fat removal, surgical liposuction remains the gold standard.
At Minnerva Clinic & Medical Center, I focus on safe protocols, scientific planning and honest guidance so patients can make informed decisions. If you are considering body contouring, consult an experienced specialist like Dr. Vivek Gupta before choosing any treatment.
