What would you do?
A friend of mine in the UK is living with PCOS, has had gestational diabetes in both previous pregnancies, and now wants to have another baby.
Her doctor has prescribed a GLP-1 medication to help improve her weight and metabolic health before pregnancy.
It’s a scenario that many women are now facing.
There’s often pressure to lose weight before conceiving, but fertility planning is rarely as simple as the number on the scale. Medical history, insulin resistance, previous pregnancy complications, nutrition, and future pregnancy goals all matter.
If you were in her shoes, what would you do?
A- Focus on improving metabolic health with a GLP-1 medication before trying to conceive.
B- Start trying for pregnancy now.
There’s no judging here, I’m genuinely interested in hearing different perspectives.
Comment A or B and let’s start the conversation.
