4. CONCLUSION
The Charaka Jayanti Celebration 2026 was successfully conducted from 10th to 17th August. The event inspired students to follow the path shown by Maharishi Charaka and to uphold the values of Ayurveda.

On the occasion of World Breastfeeding Week 2026, the PTSR Department of Merchant Ayurveda College, Basna, organized a Quiz Competition and a Reel-Making Competition to create awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and encourage students to enhance their knowledge and creativity on the theme.

Report on World Hepatitis Day 2026 Celebration

World Hepatitis Day 2026 Celebration Report
The Department of Panchakarma and Upakarma, Merchant Ayurved College, Basna, Mehsana, celebrated World Hepatitis Day on 28th July 2026 from 10:00 AM onwards with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and faculty members. The programme aimed to raise awareness of viral hepatitis, emphasizing prevention, early diagnosis, timely treatment, and Ayurveda's role in promoting liver health.
The programme was gracefully anchored by 3rd Prof. BAMS student Ms. Kaksha Pandya, who efficiently led the event and ensured its smooth, engaging progression.
The event commenced with an introduction to the significance of World Hepatitis Day and the global burden of viral hepatitis. This was followed by informative PowerPoint (PPT) presentations delivered by 3rd Prof. BAMS students Ms. Tisha Patel and Ms. Komal Patel. Their presentations comprehensively covered the history and importance of World Hepatitis Day, the 2026 awareness theme, epidemiology, aetiology, risk factors, modes of transmission, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, prevention, vaccination, prognosis, and modern management of viral hepatitis.
A special emphasis was placed on the Ayurvedic perspective of hepatitis, correlating viral hepatitis with Kamala as described in the Ayurvedic classics. The presenters explained the Ayurvedic pathogenesis involving Pitta Dosha, Rakta, and Yakrit, along with the principles of Nidana Parivarjana, Shodhana, and Shamana Chikitsa.
Particular attention was given to the role of Panchakarma, especially Virechana Karma, as the principal purification therapy for Pitta-dominant disorders. The students described the complete procedure of Virechana, including Purva Karma (Deepana-Pachana, Snehana and Swedana), Pradhana Karma (therapeutic Virechana), and Paschat Karma (Samsarjana Krama). They explained its therapeutic role in eliminating vitiated Pitta, improving liver function, restoring Agni, and supporting the management of liver disorders under proper clinical supervision.
The presenters also reviewed recent Ayurvedic research studies on hepatitis, highlighting evidence demonstrating the beneficial effects of Virechana Karma combined with Ayurvedic formulations in improving liver function tests, reducing clinical symptoms, and enhancing patients' quality of life. The research presentations concluded that although existing studies have shown promising results, larger, well-designed clinical trials are required to further validate these findings scientifically.
A poster presentation was conducted by 3rd Prof. BAMS students Ms. Prachi Modi, Ms. Urmila Chaudhary, Ms. Jyokina Gamit, Ms. Ayushi Gamit, and Ms. Ayushi Bhanderi. Their posters creatively illustrated the causes, transmission, prevention, vaccination, liver protection, healthy lifestyle practices, and public awareness regarding hepatitis. They also effectively highlighted Ayurvedic concepts of Kamala, the importance of Panchakarma, medicinal plants beneficial for liver health, and preventive healthcare measures.
Faculty members appreciated the sincere efforts and excellent presentations of all participating students. They encouraged students to continue exploring evidence-based Ayurvedic research and emphasized the responsibility of future Ayurvedic physicians in promoting awareness, preventive healthcare, and scientific integration of classical Ayurvedic principles with contemporary medical research.
The entire programme was organized and guided under the leadership of Dr. Jagdish Dalwadi and Dr. Megha Panchal, Department of Panchakarma and Upakarma. Their guidance and encouragement played a vital role in the successful planning and ex*****on of the event.
The programme concluded with an interactive discussion and a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all faculty members, student presenters, organizers, and participants. The celebration successfully fulfilled its objective of enhancing awareness regarding hepatitis and promoting the role of Ayurveda in the prevention and management of liver diseases.

Report on Doctor's Day Celebration – 1st July 2026
Merchant Ayurved College, Basna, Mahesana celebrated Doctor's Day on 1st July 2026 with great enthusiasm and dignity to honor the invaluable contributions of the medical fraternity to society.

The programme was organized with the objective of expressing gratitude to doctors for their selfless service and inspiring students to uphold the noble values of the medical profession.

The celebration commenced with a Rangoli Competition held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, in which students from the First, Second, and Third Professional B.A.M.S. classes participated enthusiastically.

The competition was coordinated by Dr. Shruti Joshi Ma'am,Dr Megha panchal while Dr. Vandana Ma'am and Dr. Hirva Ma'am served as the judges.

The participants presented creative and meaningful rangoli designs reflecting the spirit of healthcare, humanity, and Ayurveda.
Following the competition, the formal programme began with the Ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp by the distinguished chief guests, faculty members, and dignitaries, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the pursuit of knowledge.

The ceremony was followed by the chanting of the Dhanvantari Vandana, invoking the blessings of Lord Dhanvantari, the divine physician and the deity of Ayurveda, for the well-being of humanity and the success of the event.

To encourage academic excellence and active participation, a Medical Quiz Competition was organized under the coordination of Dr. Mallika Chaudhary Ma'am. Students participated enthusiastically, demonstrating their knowledge, confidence, and teamwork.
