You can care about your appearance without letting it take over your life.

When checking, comparing, exercising, or trying to “fix” perceived flaws starts becoming a constant source of distress, it may be time to look beyond everyday insecurity. Body image concerns can be more complex than they appear, and they deserve to be taken seriously.

There’s nothing embarrassing about taking care of your mental health.

Knowing when you need support, understanding yourself better, and asking for help when you need it are all signs of self-awareness, not weakness. Therapy or psychiatric care can be one part of that process.

Maybe it’s kinda chic to take yourself seriously.

Sometimes you don’t need to wait until things get really bad before asking for help.

Therapy can simply be a space to understand yourself a little better, work through what’s been weighing on you, and figure out what you want to do differently.

And yes, it can take time but that’s okay.

Saying no can feel surprisingly difficult, especially when you’re used to putting other people’s needs before your own.

For some people, it comes with guilt, fear of disappointing others, or anxiety about conflict. Learning to set boundaries doesn’t mean you care less about people. It means recognising that your needs matter too.

Do you find it difficult to say no?

Reading can be more than a hobby. It can be a healthy coping strategy. 📖

Making time to read can help you slow down, shift your perspective, and take a meaningful break from the demands of everyday life. While it won’t eliminate stress, reading can be one of many healthy ways to support your mental wellbeing.

Like any coping strategy, reading is most effective when it’s part of a balanced approach to self-care. It can support mental wellbeing, but it isn’t a substitute for professional care when distress is persistent or affecting daily life.

Reading is more than a hobby. For many people, it can be a healthy coping strategy that offers a sense of calm, perspective, and emotional relief during stressful times. While it isn’t a substitute for therapy or professional support, making time for a good book can be one small step towards caring for your mental wellbeing.

How accurately does Atypical portray autism?

While no TV show can represent every autistic experience, Atypical highlights important aspects of autism, including routines, sensory sensitivities, special interests, and the challenges of navigating a world that isn’t always designed with neurodiversity in mind.

Understanding these experiences helps us move beyond stereotypes and towards greater empathy and inclusion.

Being kind and being a people pleaser aren’t always the same thing.

People pleasers often prioritise others’ needs, approval, or comfort at the expense of their own. Over time, this can lead to stress, resentment, and difficulty recognising what you truly need.

If you noticed yourself in one or more of these signs, it doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. These patterns are often learned and, with awareness, they can change.

Healthy relationships don’t require you to constantly put yourself last.
