Global Fatty Liver Day is observed to raise awareness about fatty liver disease. One of its more serious forms is MASH (Metabolic dysfunction-associated Steatohepatitis), which occurs when excess fat builds up in the liver, causing inflammation and damage to liver cells. If left untreated, it can lead to liver scarring (fibrosis) and, in severe cases, cirrhosis.
Here’s why it needs attention:
▪️ Fatty Liver Disease can develop silently
▪️Many people discover it only during routine health checks
▪️Left unchecked, it may lead to serious liver damage.
So this Fatty Liver Day, let’s make an effort to choose healthier meals, engage more in physical activities and get proper sleep.
And don't wait for symptoms. Get screened regularly for diabetes, obesity, and high cholesterol.
Your liver works hard for you. It's time to return the favour.
