Unpopular opinion: being put on the birth control pill for PCOS isnât treatment. Itâs a pause button. â¸ď¸
The bleed you get on the birth control pill is a withdrawal bleed, not a real period. It doesnât mean youâre ovulating. And it doesnât touch the insulin resistance, androgens or inflammation underneath.
Thatâs why so many women stop the pill and find their PCOS right where they left it, sometimes with a longer wait for their cycle to return.
Ask your doctor:
1ď¸âŁ What exactly is this treating?
2ď¸âŁ Which labs were done to confirm my PCOS?
3ď¸âŁ Whatâs the plan for the root cause?
Do not stop any medication on your own. Talk to your doctor first.
