☀️ Summer Raita Series 2/5

Too hot to eat, but you still need something filling? Try this aloo and apple ka raita !

It is light on the stomach, easy to digest, and still keeps you full without that heavy feeling—perfect for days when your appetite is low but skipping meals isn’t an option.

Works well with roti or rice, or even as it is when you don’t feel like putting together a full meal.

During pregnancy, this can be a great evening option when eating starts to feel like a task.

Comment “ALOO” and I’ll DM you the full recipe 🤍

Save this for low-energy days & share with someone who skips meals in summer.

Planning a pregnancy, undergoing IVF, or even thinking of egg freezing? Then this is something you don’t want to miss.

There’s one simple, underrated food I always include in my clients’ plans. It’s rich in key nutrients like vitamin B6 and folate that support hormonal balance and ovulation, along with minerals that help build a strong foundation for both you and your future baby.

The best part? It’s light on the stomach, easy to include in different forms, and works beautifully even when your appetite or digestion is off (something many women experience during this phase).

If you’re planning your next step in your fertility journey, this is definitely one to consider.

Comment “sabudana” and I’ll share my favourite SAGO PAYASSAM recipe with you.

And follow along for more practical, no-nonsense pregnancy and fertility nutrition tips.

This is more common than you think during pregnancy, especially as your body and digestion keep adapting.

The key thing to focus on here is hydration. With frequent motions, your body loses fluids faster, and your requirement is already higher during pregnancy.

- Blood volume increases
- Amniotic fluid needs to be maintained
- Higher metabolic demand
- More fluid loss

Here’s how you can stay on top of it:

1. Drink enough water so your urine stays almost crystal clear
2. Avoid dehydrating foods after 6 pm — tea, coffee, chocolate, ice cream, chips, and packaged foods
3. Add more hydrating foods — fruits, homemade sherbets, curd, milk, and even soaked dried fruits

Small changes like these can make a big difference in how you feel.

Save this for later and share it with a friend who might need this 🤍

If stools remain hard, dry, or difficult to pass, the delicate skin around the a**s can tear repeatedly. This is why preventing constipation through daily food habits becomes extremely important.

Here are a few simple dietary practices that can help keep stools soft and easy to pass:

1. One fresh seasonal fruit every day – supports fibre intake and gut movement.
2. Rice with ghee for dinner (with dal, sabzi or dahi) – lighter to digest + helps bowel movement the next morning.
3. A little white butter with meals – with roti, parantha or cheela will lubricate stools naturally.
4. One glass of shikanji daily with white salt and sugar – supports hydration and electrolyte balance.

Early dietary correction can make a big difference before the problem becomes severe.

Coconut is one of the foods I regularly include in the meal plans of my pregnancy clients. But one common question I get is — how do you store it without it getting spoilt in the fridge?

If stored correctly, fresh coconut can easily stay good for up to 5 days in the refrigerator. (Watch the reel for the basic method.)

But if you want it to last even longer, here’s an additional trick I often suggest:

After cutting the coconut, grate it into thick shreds and lightly dry-roast it on a low flame. This step helps reduce the moisture content and causes slight dextrinisation, which not only extends its shelf life in the fridge but also makes the coconut more aromatic and nutty in flavour.

You can then eat it as it is, add it to sabzis, chutneys, porridges, or other recipes of your choice.

Save this for the next time you bring home fresh coconut. 🥥

During pregnancy, small daily habits can make a meaningful difference to how the body feels and functions.

Of course, the foundation is always a healthy, balanced diet, regular meals, good hydration. But alongside this, certain traditional therapeutic foods can really support your pregnancy journey.

One such food has been used in Indian kitchens for generations for its cooling, calming and digestive-supportive properties.

Because of its soothing properties, it is also used during fertility treatments (IVF, IUI) to help ease symptoms like nausea and abdominal discomfort.

Important to remember — this is not a medicine and should never replace medical care. It works best as a supportive food within an overall healthy diet.

If you want to know how to choose the right one when buying from a store or online, comment “gulkand” and I will DM you the selection criteria.

This is a simple summer ingredient many of us grew up around, but very few use it regularly for children today.

In the scorcing heat, when kids start dealing with mouth ulcers, stomach irritation, urinary infections, heat rash, and even acne in teenagers, this one traditional remedy can really help.

When used the right way, its water has natural cooling, digestive and protective properties that make summers much easier for growing kids.

It is easily available across India and is now even gaining popularity internationally as an Ayurvedic cooling remedy.

If you want to learn how to prepare and use it correctly for children, comment “KHUS” and I will DM you the simple steps.

And yes… this is not just for kids. Adults can benefit from it too during the summer months.

In the last reel, I asked you 2 truths and 1 lie about bananas.

The statement “Bananas raise your blood sugar levels” was the lie. Out of 108 responses, only 35 people identified it correctly.

Bananas are often misunderstood when it comes to sugar. In reality, they contain dietary fibre that slows the absorption of glucose, which means they provide steady energy rather than a sudden spike for most healthy individuals.

They are also rich in potassium, magnesium and manganese, micronutrients that are especially important during growing years for muscle function, nerve health and metabolism.

Another interesting benefit is that bananas act as a natural prebiotic, feeding the good bacteria in the gut. A healthier gut means better digestion, easier bowel movements and less acidity or bloating.

And yes, bananas are one of the few fruits that can be eaten at whenever you like or need !
