“Guess what allergies this beautiful Mumbai night can trigger? 🌕🌆🚆

Despite the moonlight and skyline… the air may carry:

• Pollution allergy
• Dust mite allergy
• Cockroach allergy
• Mold allergy (especially in humid weather)
• Pollen allergy

If you wake up with sneezing, blocked nose, cough, wheezing or itchy eyes… your environment may be the hidden trigger.

Mumbai shines at night…
but so do allergies. 🤧✨

🪳🍫 COCKROACHES IN CHOCOLATE?

Sounds shocking… but tiny insect particles can sometimes get mixed during cocoa bean storage and chocolate processing.

For most people this may not matter…
But in allergy-prone individuals, proteins like tropomyosin found in cockroach, dust mite, and shellfish can cross-react and trigger allergy symptoms.

🤧 Allergies are more complex than we think.
✔️ Chronic sneezing
✔️ Nose block
✔️ Cough & wheeze
✔️ Itchy eyes
✔️ Hives

If your allergies are not improving despite medicines, it may be time for proper allergy evaluation.

🧪 HIGH IgE in blood tests?
Don’t Panic!

“Your IgE is very high!” 😳
Many people get scared after seeing this on their blood reports… but high IgE itself is NOT a disease.

It is simply a marker that something may be happening inside the body.

High IgE levels can be seen in:
✔️ Allergies
✔️ Allergic asthma
✔️ Skin allergies & eczema
✔️ Dust allergy
✔️ Food allergy
✔️ Parasitic infections
✔️ Some immune-related conditions

So a high IgE report alone CANNOT diagnose allergy.

Many people unnecessarily stop foods or start random treatments just because IgE is high.

Proper allergy diagnosis may require:
✨ Detailed history
✨ Clinical examination
✨ Allergy testing in selected patients

The good news?
There is NO need to panic. 🌟

Treatment depends on the underlying cause.
If allergies are the reason, proper allergy treatment and allergen immunotherapy may help control symptoms and modify the allergic process over time.

Remember:
👉 We treat the patient, not just the IgE number.

Meet a certified allergy specialist for proper evaluation and guidance.

Save & share this reel with someone worried about their IgE reports ❤️

🪳 Cockroaches sirf hygiene problem nahi hain…
they can actually trigger allergies & asthma too. 🤧🫁

Most people don’t realise that cockroach particles, droppings, saliva, and shed skin can mix with house dust and silently worsen respiratory allergies.

If you have:
• Sneezing
• Blocked nose
• Wheezing
• Night-time cough
• Asthma symptoms indoors

…hidden indoor allergens like cockroaches may be one of the reasons.

Simple prevention can make a big difference:

✔️ Regular pest control
✔️ Clean kitchen before sleeping
✔️ Avoid eating in bed/sofa
✔️ Dispose food waste properly
✔️ Seal cracks & damp corners

Sometimes the allergy trigger is not outside your home… it’s hiding inside it.

Don’t underestimate cockroaches.
Understand your triggers.
Get tested.
Breathe better.

“If you are using the right nasal spray, but your nose is still blocked…
the problem may actually be your technique.

Most people spray directly towards the center of the nose.
But that can irritate the nose, cause dryness, bleeding, and the medicine may not reach properly.

So here is the correct way to use a nasal spray.

First, gently blow your nose.

Then slightly bend your head forward.

Now use your RIGHT hand for the LEFT nostril… and LEFT hand for the RIGHT nostril.

Aim the spray slightly OUTWARDS towards the eye — not towards the center of the nose.

While spraying, take a gentle sniff. Do not sniff very hard.

And remember — don’t lie down immediately after using the spray.

Using the correct technique can make a huge difference in opening your nose during allergies and travel.

Follow us to breathe free, play freely, and live better.

Please like this reel, save it, and share it with someone who always has a blocked nose.

Celebrity chef Vicky Ratnani visited Mumbai Allergy Centre today for a scientific food allergy evaluation.

Many people unnecessarily stop nutritious foods like milk, wheat, eggs, nuts, or other foods because of random blood tests, bloating, acidity, social media advice, or confusion between food allergy and food intolerance.

But not every food reaction is a food allergy.

Scientific food allergy diagnosis requires:
✔ Detailed clinical history
✔ Proper allergy-focused evaluation
✔ Scientifically validated tests like Skin Prick Testing

Skin Prick Testing, along with clinical history, remains one of the most important scientific methods for diagnosing IgE-mediated food allergy.

Do not stop nutritious foods unnecessarily because of random testing or self-diagnosis.

Always get evaluated by an allergy specialist for the right diagnosis and treatment.

🌿 Travel Allergy Series – Part 5

🎥 Garden walk /Trek...
Causing Rash, Itching & Sneezing?

It Could Be Pollen Allergy!

Love garden walks, trekking, or nature vacations? 🌳
Your symptoms may not just be “weather changes” — they could be due to pollen allergy.

Pollens can trigger:

👃 Sneezing, blocked nose, and runny nose
👁 Itchy, red, watery eyes
🩹 Skin itching or rashes after contact with grass or plants

Simple ways to reduce pollen exposure while traveling:

✔ Wear full-sleeved clothes and full-length pajamas
✔ Apply a moisturizer or barrier cream on exposed skin
✔ Use sunglasses or protective goggles outdoors
✔ Keep car windows closed during high pollen exposure
✔ Use a good AC/car air filter whenever possible
✔ After returning home, change clothes and take a shower before bed to avoid transferring pollen onto bed

If these symptoms happen repeatedly during travel or seasonal changes, proper allergy evaluation, skin prek test for local pollens and allergen immunotherapy may help control allergies in long term.
