I’m spilling the truth about some skincare mistakes I made in my late 20s and early 30s — so you don’t have to repeat them! 💬
✨ 1. Skipping sunscreen while driving
I can’t tell you how many road trips I took without SPF — completely unaware that UV rays pe*****te car windows! The long-term damage shows up slowly but surely. Now, sunscreen is non-negotiable, even indoors or in the car.
🧴 2. Overusing actives, ignoring barrier repair
In my 30s, I believed actives like retinol and acids were the only solution. But I ignored the importance of barrier-repair creams. Over time, my skin became more reactive, drier, and less tolerant. Balance is everything.
🤦♀️ 3. Ignoring my neck and hands
Your neck and hands are extensions of your face. They age the same way, sometimes faster! If you’re applying your serums and moisturizers, take them all the way down — your future self will thank you.
😴 4. Underestimating sleep and stress
Night shifts, caffeine overload, late parties, and endless screen time — I did it all. And I paid for it. Your skin truly mirrors your lifestyle. Sleep, hydration, and calm matter as much as your skincare routine.
So now, when patients tell me, “I’m doing everything right but not seeing results,” I always ask — Are you sleeping enough? Are you managing stress?
Because great skin isn’t built in a bottle — it’s built in balance. 💖
