Why this works? : Refrigeration slows bacterial growth and chemical changes in eggs. Storing eggs pointy-end down keeps the air cell at the top, reducing movement of the yolk and helping the membrane stay centered — this preserves freshness and extends shelf life.

How to store (quick steps)
• Keep eggs in their original carton. The carton protects shells and prevents them absorbing fridge odors.
• Place carton on an inner fridge shelf, not the door, to maintain a steady 4°C–5°C (39°F–41°F).
• Store pointy-end down so the air cell stays at the top and the yolk remains centered.
• Use within 3–5 weeks for best quality; if unsure, do the float test (sink = fresh, stands = older, floats = discard).
• Wash eggs only just before use; washing removes the natural protective bloom and increases contamination risk.
Safety tips
• Cook eggs until both whites and yolks are firm for highest safety.
