Sometimes hair loss stops on its own.
Sometimes it doesn’t.

Here’s how to know the difference:

Hair loss that OFTEN resolves without treatment:
Telogen effluvium from a specific trigger (post-illness, post-pregnancy, stress event) — usually resolves in 3-6 months once the trigger resolves.

Hair loss that does NOT resolve on its own:
Androgenetic alopecia (pattern hair loss) — progressive. Gets worse without intervention.
PCOS-related hair loss continues as long as the hormonal imbalance is unaddressed.
Thyroid-related hair loss — continues until thyroid is treated.
Scalp conditions (seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis) — chronic and recurring without management.

The problem: waiting to see if it stops on its own can close the treatment window for the types that don’t.

When in doubt — get a diagnosis. Not a wait-and-see.

The most important skin habit for living in Mumbai:

SPF 30 minimum. Every single day.
Even when it's cloudy. Even when you're staying indoors.

Why indoors?
UVA rays (the ones that cause pigmentation and aging) pe*****te glass. If you sit near a window — you're getting UV exposure.

Why on cloudy days?
Up to 80% of UV radiation pe*****tes cloud cover. Mumbai's overcast monsoon sky is not UV protection.

For Mumbai skin specifically: unprotected UV exposure accelerates melasma, worsens existing pigmentation, and undoes any brightening treatment you've invested in.

You cannot treat pigmentation while leaving the tap on.
