Managing Diabetes

Diabetic patient with the following case history :

FBS (Fasting Blood sugar) as 170

At random (after 2 hours of taking meals), it was 260 ~ 280

Numbness in hands & feet

Frequent thirst

Blurred vision

Headache in the morning (after waking up)

Lethargy in whole body

No control / limitations on his diet

Formula "D" (taken as a teaspoon with every meal) and diet was changed as :

White bread / white rice stopped completely, replaced with whole barley bread / brown rice

10-15 ml of homemade vinegar taken with every bread / rice meal

Only a single bread / rice meal allowed daily

To use extra virgin olive oil exclusively as the cooking oil

Dinner advised as totally free of bread / rice / curry, replaced with either steamed vegetables or low sugar fruits (especially Guava)

Because most Diabetic patients suffer with a frequent urge of hunger (between the meals), so he was asked to kill that feeling by taking very low amounts of nuts / seeds, un-salted pumpkin seeds were taken at most of the occasions, or a small cup of home-made ~ non-fat yogurt

Subhanallah that after 2 weeks, we had the following results :

FBS (Fasting Blood sugar) ~ reducing to 145 ~ 150

At random (after 2 hours of taking meals), it dropped to 185
