Thinking of swapping sugar for chemical artificial sweeteners every day? Think twice. 🛑
While sugar-free tablets promise zero calories, daily reliance on synthetic sweeteners like aspartame or saccharin comes with hidden health risks:
⚠️ Gut Dysbiosis: Disrupts your gut microbiome, triggering severe gas, bloating, and stomach cramps.
⚠️ Brain & Mood Signals: These chemicals cross the blood-brain barrier, triggering headaches, migraines, and mood swings.
⚠️ Metabolic Confusion: By tricking your brain, they increase food cravings—leading to weight gain, insulin resistance, decreased insulin sensitivity, and a higher long-term risk of Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Artificial tablets aren't a safe daily shortcut.

👉 Want a safer alternative? I broke down the complete truth about chemical sweeteners vs. zero-calorie natural options (Stevia, Monk Fruit) vs. whole-food alternatives (Jaggery, Dates) in my full video.

Barnyard Millet/ Samak chawal/ Varai/ Bhagar–
Understand how it aids weight loss:
1.Whole grain, rich in fiber — keeps you fuller for longer, which naturally reduces overeating and supports weight loss
2. Protein-rich (8-11%) — meaningful protein for a fasting-day grain, supports satiety and helps preserve muscle during vrat
3. Rasa: Madhura-Kashaya, Vipaka: Katu — its katu vipaka directly supports reducing meda (fat) and kleda (excess fluid/toxins), a well-established action in classical Ayurvedic pharmacology
4. Srotoshodhana action — absorbs excess secretions and toxins, reducing bloating and clearing the body's channels (srotas)
5. Rice-like taste and texture — gives the same psychological satisfaction as eating rice, so you don't feel deprived during vrat
6. 22x more fiber than white rice — doesn't cause the same starch overload as white rice or sabudana, so no quick spike-and-crash cycle

PATHYAM | MUDGA YUSHA 🌿
A simple bowl of moong, but with a beautiful Ayurvedic logic behind it.
Ayurveda considers Mudga (moong) Pathyatama and among the best of the pulses. Its Laghu quality makes it light to digest, while its Deepana action supports Agni.
And the beautiful part? The same Mudga Yusha can be adapted according to the season by changing its spices.
🌧️ MONSOON — Shunthi + Cumin + Hing
A warming, digestive combination, especially suitable when Vata tends to increase and Agni feels sluggish.
☀️ SUMMER — Coriander + Cumin + Fennel
A lighter, more cooling combination suited to the warmer season.
❄️ WINTER — Shunthi + Black Pepper + Garlic
A warming, stimulating combination for the colder season.
You can also use a small quantity of Trikatu when appropriate.
Basic Mudga Yusha
1 part roasted moong : 16 parts water
Dry roast moong until aromatic. Add water and simmer until completely soft. Add the season-specific spices, mash well and strain. Finish with rock salt. A light ghee tempering can be added according to the season and individual suitability.
⏱️ Short on time?
No worries! Use the pressure cooker: 1 part moong : 16 parts water, pressure cook for 2 whistles, mash well, strain, and finish with your seasonal spice tempering.
Seasonal wisdom that keeps it relevant all year round.
Save this post for your next bowl of Mudga Yusha. 🌿
PATHYAM — Not a restriction, but nutrition with intention.

Ever wondered why it's called Ashwagandha? 🐴🍒
Ashwagandha is named from Sanskrit words: ashva (horse) and gandha (smell). Fresh roots smell like a horse. It also means gaining horse-like strength and vitality.
Traditional Meaning: The fresh root gives off a distinct, horse-like scent.
Symbolic Meaning: It implies the herb gives the user the physical stamina, vigor, and strength of a horse.
It's also known as "Winter Cherry" in English — the plant produces small orange-red berries that look like tiny cherries, ripening through the colder months. Same herb, different name, different clue to its character.
Now, why this tea? 👇
The Triple S — Sleep, Strength, Stress
🔹 Sleep — helps calm the mind, eases you into deeper rest
🔹 Strength — it's brimhana, meaning it nourishes and rebuilds the body
🔹 Stress — supports the body's stress response, brings a sense of calm
It's also ushna virya (heating in nature) — which is exactly why it's a monsoon favorite. Paired with ginger and dalchini, it supports agni (digestive fire) in a season when digestion naturally slows down.
The ritual:
Crush ashwagandha roots (or use a trusted, authentically sourced powder — adulteration is common in the market, so source matters)
Simmer with crushed ginger + a stick of dalchini for 12-15 mins
Strain, let it cool till just warm
Sweeten with honey — but never add honey to boiling hot tea, it turns toxic as per classical texts
Pitta prakriti or run hot? Skip honey, stir in rose petals or a spoon of gulkand instead — same ritual, cooling effect
Duration: Daily for 30 days is a good place to start — most people notice real change in sleep and stress by then. Take a short break after, restart if it's working for you.
Best sipped in the evening, after a long day. 🌙
Save this for your next monsoon evening. 💾
Not a substitute for medical advice — consult your doctor if pregnant, or managing thyroid conditions or other health concerns.

Good sleep isn’t just about setting screen boundaries or night habits—it’s about cultivating a quiet mind. 🧠✨
When we rely on quick fixes like melatonin or sedatives, we force rest without addressing the agitation underneath.
According to Ayurveda, true, nourishing rest (Sukhanidra) can only happen when the mind achieves peace (Manasah Sukham). Sleep isn't just rest or a luxury; it is a vital pillar of life (Trayopastambha) that impacts everything from mental clarity to long-term vitality. 🌿
Swipe through to explore what’s really stealing your sleep and what classical Ayurveda teaches about deep rest.
