Conscious of eye twitching but don’t know what it is. The most common type of eye twitching is called myokymia. This type of twitch or spasm is very common and happens to most people at some point. It can involve either the upper or lower eyelid, but usually only one eye at a time.
Understanding the cause is important to cure it. Majorly triggered by
1️⃣ Too much caffeine- cutting back can help considerably
2️⃣ Stress- anything extra than the normal routine is stress for your body for e.g. sitting during traffic hours cause stress. Take break during the day, deep breathing and meditation exercises are few ways to reduce stress.
3️⃣ Fatigue- excessive use of computer at work, switching to phone at the other time cause eye strain and fatigue. Monitor and try to reduce screen time.
4️⃣ Dehydration - maintain 2-3 liters intake of fluids daily. Be conscious during winters when we avoid water.
5️⃣ Anxiety- social and mental pressure triggers anxiety. Anxiety when beyond control start hampering the body.
6️⃣Lack of sleep- 6-8 hours of good quality sleep is must for adult to maintain good health.
7️⃣Nutrition Deficiency- A variety of vitamins and minerals are responsible for proper muscle function, and eye twitches can be caused by an imbalance in these nutrients: electrolytes, vitamin B12, vitamin D, or magnesium. Magnesium Deficiency are particularly responsible for eye twitching- increase your daily intake of dark chocolate, spinach, pumpkin seeds, whole grains etc.
