As April bid adieu to May, a big one got knocked off my travel bucket list.
Some days were chilly, a few rainy, and some when the sun shone happily. The ocean in all its hues, sandy and pebbled beaches, scenic views, long traffic-less drives mapping entire islands, quaint towns, those iconic Mediterranean blue and white homes, historic sites transporting you to antiquity, yummy food, and Greek wine 🍷

Met my wonderful new KARM Foundation mentee, Mahwish Bano, over coffee, and what a beautiful beginning to our journey together.

Mahwish is just starting her Philosophy (H) degree, and she’s already shown me the kind of depth and creativity that takes my breath away. She’s an artist, photographer, calligrapher, filmmaker, and poet - such a gentle soul with so much light to share with the world. ✨✨✨

She came bearing the most precious gifts: a handwritten note that spoke of seeing the world “calm, curious and alive with meaningful essence,” and a stunning little painting that now has a special place in my heart. These weren’t just gifts - they were windows into her beautiful spirit.

This is what mentorship through KARM is all about. Not just guidance, but genuine connection. Not just career paths, but confidence building. Not just goals, but growth - together.

Yesterday, I was part something extraordinary - the graduation of the batch of from the Fellowship Program. As I sat in the convocation hall, watching these young women receive their recognition, I couldn’t help but feel so emotional, filled with profound gratitude for being even a small part of this transformative movement. Thank you KARM 🙏

KARM is such an empowering vision brought to life by Radhika Bharat Ram and so brilliantly stewarded by Vinita Johorey. It stands as a beacon for gender equity, creating pathways for young women to truly thrive beyond academics.

Its ideology of itforward allows these to not just receive support; but embrace the philosophy of lifting others as they rise. Sakshi () and her peers now carry not only academic credentials but also the powerful human skills that will distinguish them in their journeys ahead.

The inspiring address by Dr. (DG Police, Retd.) left us all in awe. Her remarkable journey of determination in the Indian Police Service – at a time when she chose a path “not meant for women” and then rising to the highest echelons despite all odds – embodied the very spirit KARM seeks to instil. Her words, “𝘒𝘰𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘬𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯 𝘬𝘪 𝘬𝘢𝘣𝘩𝘪 𝘩𝘢𝘢𝘳 𝘯𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘪” (Those who persevere never truly lose), resonated deeply throughout the hall.

My dear Sakshi and all her peers: Your journeys inspire us more than you know. We believe wholeheartedly in your potential, and trust that you will responsibly elevate others as you have been elevated. Live with conviction, embrace continuous learning, and embody the vision that brought you here.

As we enter February, I reminisce the completion of last year and beginning of 2025 with a memorable winter trip to Croatia. The icy winter in Plitvice in all its sub zero glory…everything fairytale white covered in snow. Loved walking above and around the lakes in the National Park soaking in nature’s bountiful beauty. Dubrovnik brought alive the Game of Thrones experience. The fort, the city walls, the sea…breathtaking! King’s Landing, the Red Keep, The House of Undying all wrapped up. Of course the steps going up and down the town tested our physical fitness daily but we survived and came away with precious memories. Split up next allowed an easy pace that comes with a quaint old town. Enjoyed the relaxed couple of days here exploring this Dalmation seaside city. Final destination, the capital Zagreb. Walked around the city taking in views of the medieval towers, cathedrals, Baroque style buildings, cafés and open air markets.

2024 has been a year of expansion and growth in unprecedented ways! But as I look back, the opportunity to travel and tick places off my bucket list has definitely been a gratitude soaked high! A big thank you to the Universe and the powers that be for joyous experiences… and may they continue as we step into 2025
