📱 Sirf 2 minute Instagram dekhta hoon…
…and suddenly, 45 minutes disappear. 😵‍💫

Ever wondered why it feels so difficult to stop scrolling?

Every like, comment, notification and new Reel can activate the brain’s reward pathway, involving dopamine. With repeated, rapid-fire content, your brain can become accustomed to constant novelty, making sustained attention and focused work feel harder.

And no, it’s not simply about “weak willpower.” Understanding how your brain responds to digital stimulation can help you build healthier screen habits. 🧠

Try this:

✅ Set screen-time limits
✅ Turn off unnecessary notifications
✅ Take regular screen breaks
✅ Create phone-free periods during work or study
✅ Prioritize sleep, exercise and real-world activities

Is your phone controlling your attention—or are you?

Save this Reel and share it with someone who is always scrolling. 📲

Disclaimer: Digital habits affect people differently. Persistent problems with attention, sleep, mood or daily functioning should be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional.

Spine Health After 40: What Changes — and What You Can Do About It

Turning 40 doesn’t mean you have to accept back pain, stiffness or reduced mobility as “normal.”
As we age, the spine naturally undergoes changes such as:
🔹 Loss of disc hydration – Discs can become less flexible and more prone to wear.
🔹 Reduced flexibility – Stiffer muscles and ligaments can limit movement.
🔹 Decreased bone density – This can increase the risk of fractures and osteoporosis.
🔹 Spinal wear and tear – Age-related changes can contribute to arthritis and stiffness.
🔹 Declining muscle mass – Weaker core and back muscles can affect posture and stability.
🔹 Poor posture habits – Years of prolonged sitting and repetitive strain can contribute to back and neck discomfort.

But there’s good news: ageing doesn't mean giving up on a healthy spine.
Regular exercise, good posture, a balanced diet, stress management and timely medical check-ups can help you maintain strength, mobility and spinal health.

Is Your Sitting Posture Helping or Hurting Your Spine?

If you spend long hours at a desk, your posture can have a significant impact on your spinal health. Poor sitting habits often lead to neck pain, shoulder stiffness, back pain, fatigue, and reduced productivity.

The good news - A few simple posture corrections can make a lasting difference.
Follow these ergonomic tips:
• Keep your head upright with your chin parallel to the floor.
• Position your screen so the top is at eye level.
• Relax your shoulders—avoid hunching.
• Sit with your back fully supported by the chair.
• Keep your elbows close to your body at a 90° angle.
• Place both feet flat on the floor or on a footrest.
• Adjust your chair so your knees are at or slightly below hip level.
• Stand up, stretch, and move every 30–60 minutes.

Why good posture matters:
✔ Reduces neck, shoulder, and back pain
✔ Improves focus and work efficiency
✔ Supports healthy breathing and circulation
✔ Helps prevent long-term spine problems

Small posture changes today create lifelong benefits.
Take care of your spine—it supports you every day.

Behind every successful surgery is years of learning, mentorship, and the willingness to share knowledge. ❤️

Recently, Dr. Manish Vaish had the privilege of conducting a Proctorship Program on Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (MISS) at the Department of Neurosurgery, RNT Medical College & Hospital, Udaipur.

The workshop brought together over 10 neurosurgeons and postgraduate delegates for an enriching academic experience featuring case discussions, patient selection strategies, and live demonstrations of minimally invasive spine surgery.

Every discussion, every question, and every shared experience reflected a common purpose—to make spine surgery safer, more precise, and help patients recover faster.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Gaurav Jaiswal (HOD, Department of Neurosurgery), Dr. K. G. Lodha, and Dr. Pankaj Somani for their support, collaboration, and commitment to advancing neurosurgical education.

At Sushrut Brain & Spine, education is an integral part of our mission. By sharing advanced surgical techniques and clinical expertise, we aim to contribute to better neurosurgical care far beyond our own operating rooms.

Thank you to the entire Department of Neurosurgery at RNT Medical College & Hospital, Udaipur, for the warm welcome and enthusiastic participation. Here's to many more collaborations that inspire learning and improve patient outcomes.

💙 Learning. Teaching. Innovating. Healing.

💭 "Kya meri zindagi pehle jaisi kabhi hogi?"
Yeh sawaal har us patient ke mann mein hota hai jise neurological condition diagnose hui ho. Aur yeh bilkul valid hai. 🙏
Sach yeh hai —
kuch cheezein badal sakti hain. Par iska matlab yeh nahi ki ek acchi, meaningful zindagi possible nahi.
Long-term impact samajhna zaroori hai:
🔴 Physical changes — kya improve hoga, kya manage karna padega
🔴 Work aur daily routine pe asar
🔴 Relationships aur social life
🔴 Mental health — anxiety aur depression ka risk
🔴 Family dynamics kaise badlte hain
Par saath mein yeh bhi sach hai:
✅ Sahi treatment se bahut se patients normal life jite hain
✅ Early intervention se long-term damage kam hota hai
✅ Strong support system recovery mein sabse bada factor hai
✅ Neurological conditions ke saath bhi ek poori zindagi possible hai
Akele mat socho. Apne neurologist se openly baat karo. 🙏

😟 "Kya yeh treatment sach mein kaam karegi? Kya surgery zaroori hai? Koi aur option nahi?"
Yeh sawaal aapke mann mein hain — toh aap akele nahi ho. 🙏
Neurological conditions mein treatment uncertainty bahut common hai —
aur isse ignore karna ya andar hi rakhna aur mushkil bana deta hai.
Jo uncertainty feel hoti hai woh kuch aisi hoti hai:
😕 "Doctor ne kaha surgery karo — par main darr raha/rahi hoon"
😕 "Dawai se farak nahi pad raha — kya yeh sahi treatment hai?"
😕 "Kisi ne kuch aur bataya — ab kya karein?"
Yeh bilkul valid feelings hain. Aur inka solution hai — openly baat karna.
Apne doctor se yeh sawaal zaroor poochho:
✅ Is treatment ke kya options hain?
✅ Surgery nahi kiya toh kya hoga?
✅ Success rate kya hai mere case mein?
✅ Recovery mein kitna waqt lagega?
✅ Kya second opinion lena theek rahega?
Second opinion lena aapka haq hai —
aur ek accha doctor kabhi isse bura nahi maanega. 🙏
Informed patient better decisions leta hai —
aur better decisions better recovery laate hain.
👉 Dr. Manish Vaish se openly apne sawaal poochhein — aaj hi milein.
