The Interns of Lakhimpur Medical College organised a Health Check-up cm Flood Releif camp in the flood-affected Khonamukh area of Gaurisagar, Sivasagar on Sunday, 2nd August 2026.The day-long camp was organised by some Intern doctors of LMCH under guidance of Prof Chinmoyee Deori, Staff President LMC, with monetary and other contributions from Faculty, Doctors, Staff and Students of LMCH and BSc Nursing College of Lakhimpur Cancer Centre. More than 460 people received medical care and free medicines, and 215 flood-affected families were provided with essential relief materials including rice, pulses, salt, sugar, flour, soap, detergent, candles, bleaching powder, phenyl and sanitary pads. The The programme was graced by Dr. Pranjal Tahbildar Principal cm Chief Superintendent, LMCH, Dr. Raktim Buragohain, Superintendent, LMCH, Dr. Kiran Sonowal, Head of Orthopaedics, LMCH, and Dr. Gunjurani Dutta, LMCH, along with Postgraduate Students, Interns, Students and volunteers. Members of the Pharmacist community of LMCH also joined in to dispense medicines. This initiative reflected the values of compassion, service and social responsibility of the Doctors and Students of Lakhimpur Medical College, and stands as a gesture of solidarity with families affected by floods.
